Been noticing more "thunks" and harder shifting the past month. Took it in and they are installing a new Torque Converter.

Should I have them put in synthetic trans fluid after 17,000 miles?

Any suggestions on driving "relearn" after the repair?

The ATF+4 that comes stock in your trans is full synthetic.

I have felt mine jerks a few times only got 9000 miles. Will they warranty this after my 4" lift and 32" tires is the question if it goes bad?

Maybe but I wouldn't put any money on that bet.It's not really the lift that causes problems but the 3" larger tires is what gets powertrain warranty's voided real fast since larger tires can cause any and all powertrain parts to fail early.

I no longer have my Jeep, but I was perusing the forum... there seems to be an issue with the KK and KA (Nitro) torque converter, be it mechanical and/or electronic. Before I gave my Jeep back to the dealership I was having issues with shuddering as the torque converter didn't lock up properly. I also had hard shifting. I was told by one tech. that replacing the TC for my issue would be a temporary fix until the PCM program caused the same problem to happen again. So it seemed to be an issue with the powertrain controller, rather than the mechanical side of things. I hope the OP's problem is solved permanently after the TC replacement, but I have little faith in that. For what it's worth, my problems started at about 30,000 km. It was an '08 Liberty. Just my .02.

My KK has been in the shop for very hard 1st to 2nd shift when the transmission fluid is cold. No problem when its warm, even if its been sitting a while. They flashed the PCM as the TSB called for and even changed the valve body...........It might have made it marginally better but I still have the problem. I just hate having to pull the tranny on a new vehicle so I'll probably wait to take it back until next winter when it starts shifting like crap again.
