Lots of progress made this weekend. Aside from gussets and about 4 additional small pieces the cage is done

Seats finally in...

Starting to do the 'roof'...

Front view...

A look at the top ( the camera was starting to die at this point...)

Still a few bars to add and I still have to take the cage out of the garage to do the full welding. Hoping to do that next Sunday if the weather is nice

The windshield does fold back up into place

The ps leak is still there... :oops:

Finally got the rear brake lines replaced.

No one stocks brake drums =/. Have to wait till mid next weak to do those...

Doing the brake lines was actually fun

Today I got the old crappy carter carb off and swapped in a MC2100...

old crappy carb...

carb gone...

carb junked...

adapter plate on...

mc2100 installed...

what bender did you buy to do the brake lines? what size of tubing did you use for the brake lines?

The CJ Runs!

Got the timing kinda where it should be and bamo! power was restored!

Got the gas lines squared away on the inside of the frame and drove out of the garage.

Behold the CJ in all it's glory!

Still have some work to do - need new power steering pulley assembly, mufler, wiring ( new harness is in passenger seat at the moment ), various leaks and whatnot.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get the cage finished - fully weld joints and add gussets.

Hoping to get on the trails real soon

It's funny, only a Jeeper would buy a whole vehicle, and then procede to throw away everything but the drivetrain and the engine compartment.

Congrats.

It is amazing what a new carb and some minor engine tweaking can do. That is going to be a lot of fun on the trail :!:

I was thinking the same thing. You almost have to quote it when calling it a "Jeep" now haha. But it's a "Jeep" nonetheless, very impressive work you've done. Is the camo paint job staying? :roll:
