Dude - with all these questions - you need to be buying your CRD soon so that you can play. :) :) :)

The obvious difference is that they increased the plastic thickness around the heater plug and changed the plug design.
which makes sense - that's where they were getting air leaks.

FYI - on the filter ratings - this was the link to FRAM complaining about filter rating

although it does not appear that their suggestion was adapted as a standard

Thanks AT. Im working 12 hours a day seven days a week at the moment. When this project is over Im going to find my truck, fly to wherever and buy it. Should be a nice drive home.....I appreciate all the help.

I would just go with the Racor unit if I had it to do over again. I like the set up a lot better.

I buy the CAT 1R-0750 filter from a marine dealership online. According to the parts manager at the CAT dealership here; that one is rated at 2 microns but isn't used in most of the equipment that they service because they clog too fast :shock: . He had to hunt for a while to find the info in his catalog. He may have been feeding me a line, but that's all I have to go on.
