I was just wondering what everyone is averaging as far as MPG and what mods they have done to their Jeep that would effect the MPG.

I have calculated up from the last 36 fill-ups on my KJ and I came up with an average of 13.95 MPG which is probably about 70% Highway and 30% City.
and that's with 245/75/16 Load Rating E Tires w/ 16" Steel Wheels
3" Lift
65# Front Bumper
50# Rear Hitch
35-40# of Gear in the Back (Tow Strap, Tools, Fluids, etc.)
plus Transfer Case, Engine, Transmission and Rock Rails

and of course that's with the 3.73 gears and I don't have a roof rack....I don't even have roof rails on the KJ.

full skids, about 40 pounds of junk in the back (no tools, no fluids, just junk  ), 245/75-16 MTRs, about 2.5/3" lift, averaging 15.5/16mpg 70/30 mix of city/hwy. All city, getting about 13, all hwy, about 19.5-20

I have had about 15 tanks since I got new wheels (Cragar 15x7 Black D's), tires (Treadwright A/T-G), Daystar lift, and trimmed front bumper. Average on those 15 tanks is 15.38 MPG. Prior to that, with stock 16's with the stock Wrangler ST's, I got 16.52. Almost all of my driving is in town driving. I drive a whopping 15 miles to work each day, but also use my KJ for the daily errand running and everything else for family outings in town/traffic.

Winter is killing my mileage.

It has been really cold here and we also get winter gas. Not any real city here as I am in a small village of 1,833 people so I got one traffic light and I am out of town. Rural 45/55 mph roads mostly and interstate and I am around 15 combined lately. About a 3-4 mpg drop compared to summer. Pretty bad.

My mods that add weight are in my sig. I have about 150 lbs of recovery crap, plus compressor, electric lug wrench, etc etc in the back also.

I have driven the car the past 2 days and even that is a crappy 24-25 combined when it should be 29-30. So it is not just the KJ that is getting poorer mileage. The KJ is sleeping in the garage for the last 2 days but it will come out to play tomorrow though.....haha

I got the mopar skids, and step bar / rock rails. Usually about 40lbs in the trunk lol, and currently 235/70/16 x-ice tires on steel rims. I get about 14 or less. I'm going to be watching it very closely soon, the tires are going to KM2s on alloys, taking the 40lbs out of the trunk, and doing a oil filter change, new air filter, and probably a coolant flush. Will get it in for a alignment soon as well..... I hope it goes up :S

Few weeks ago measured a tank averaged 20 highway then dropped to 18 city. Next week got the KM2s and didn't get 18 even highway. Gonna get a alingment and a new air filter soon, maybe do a oil filter and measure it again. Hoping it was my driving not the KM2s lol

Just wait till you mod the CRD,bye-bye mpg's.Might squeak 20-22mpg's on the highway which is no better then the 3.7 when equally modded.
