Is that the only place your tires rubbed? Did they not rub on the pinch weld behind the tire at the bottom of the wheel well? I'm about to put 255/70s on my KJ and when the first two tires were delivered yesterday I thought "wow those are big tires, they'll never fit on my jeep". I hope I'm wrong.

So what is the verdict? Also, would you be able to put the 1.25 wheelspacers on the rear?

Well I got the 255/70-16s put on Friday, and to my surprise I have ZERO rubbing. I have less lift in the front than most on here, but I get ZERO rubbing whatsoever on the street with the 255s.

I did note in one of the other threads, however, that there isn't much clearance between the plastic air dam in the front and the tire at full turn. So just to be on the safe side I trimmed it up some with my Dremel too yesterday. I think when I go play around off road and really start flexing, I'm going to get some minor rubbing in the front and back. But on the street these tires couldn't be more perfect. I can't begin to describe all the ways in which they've helped the KJ.

The wheel spacers would work OK I guess, but I don't think I'd ever use any for safety reasons.

I'm hoping I won't have to use them either. May not be able to. Now that you have your new tires and lift on, can you measure the closest distance achieved from the top side outer tire tread edge to the top of the rear wheel well opening under flex conditions?

If it's >=1.25", then I know that the wheel spacers will be out of the question anyway.

I'll try to do that this afternoon when I leave work and I'll post what I find. I expect that under full flex these tires are going to rub pretty bad but we'll see.

I bought the 1.5" front/2.0" rear Daystar kit for mine. My rear spacer is identical to the one they sell in the "2.5 inch" kit. The only difference is the front spacer. I don't have the new top plate for the struts and extra inch of spacer.

My experience is the factory shocks and struts are perfectly fine with the lift. I saved $160 by not ordering new struts for the front. The entire lift kit only cost $171, so it was a good decision. 8)

Where did you order the kit at such a reasonable price?

www.rockymountainsusp.com (and maybe some other places) sell this lift kit all day every day for $171 bucks. It comes with everything you need to give your KJ 2" of added lift all the way around. I LOVE it.
