Another idea that was tossed around last night in the meeting was a farewell ride/party for Mike. As we all know he and Wendy got married in Oct, they will be moving to Michigan in March/April. I find it fitting that we show our appreciation to him by having a ride and/or party in his name before he leave. Any ideas..please speak up. We can hold it at PAP....??

That's a great idea, and I would vote for the L.O.S.T. Feb 18th ride. Wheelin' Saturday, party Sat night, and Sunday to travel. Most of us met Mike and Wendy at Paragon and think It's the right place for the farewell bash. Just my $.02

Great idea, I'm just sad I've only had a couple of chances to enjoy their company!

My Saturday mornings are shot through March 18... any possibility of something on a Sunday? Or maybe a ride Saturday and a party that night?

If you guys have it on Feb 18th, I'll make that one.... for sure. I'll be on my way to the East Coast that weekend... Count me in for the 18th if it happens.

Folks, don't let this one die away. Mike and Wendy (never again to be mentioned separately) deserve the chapter's best in a farewell! Not to butt in from lower Alabama, as is redundantly inevitable, but they are GOOD PEOPLE. If that wasn't enough, they've volunteered much valuable time and energy (& probably some coins) to the development and pleasing nature of the group. I trust that folks like David, Al, Chris (et al.) recognize this, but I had to seize the opportunity for a loaded (but not wasteful) display of gratitude for my time with them...have a blast, all, I wish I could make it.

Footprints in the sand...

Either GWNF or Paragon, its up to all here. I like the idea of Paragon, since most of us met each other there for the first time. But it is kinda far to invite the honor guests to drive? GWNF would be great also, and with its more southern location, the turn out may be better! I think, but I could be wrong, I think one of the largest turn outs we had was at GWNF.

I am up for suggestions, or if you want we just do it at the Feb ride! Plan for a long day either way, a nice sit down dinner is in order also, after a hard day of wheeling!!!

I am just too choked up now to keep writting, so I will save all the nice parting words  until the dinner!

Wheeling wishies and Jeepin' dreams

Why didn't I think of that?

I agree with Al. Paragon would be a very good send-off location for Talon's Farewell Run. I met plenty of y'all there and HE knows the trails pretty decently.

ltgws(Grant) and I went on some fun and exciting trail ride with Talon in the fall. Mike led ALL THE WAY!!! Now that's a chapter PREZ, right?

Also, there is that famous Oak Creek restraunt that is a dynamite place for the gettogether afterwards. Saturday would be good for most, I would imagine.

Anyway, I hope all of you here would consider this location because I feel that Mike and Wendy wouldn't mind one last hurrah there like OLD TIMES.
For those traveling from a larger distance, maybe a slumber party at the Comfort inn for those that are into that sort of thing. Mike can tell you how he rolls in his PA stomping ground. Toga. TogA. ToGA. TOGA! LOL

Note to Wendy: You better drive this time or at least sit shotgun for pete's sake. Or else I'm telling your dad.[/i]

It makes us proud to see the respect and love that Wendy and Mike have earned from some great people. A few we have met personally.

If there was any way I could make it out there for this farewell run, I would. Just not looking good with what the TJ needs and limited time and funds at hand.

But rest assured, Mike and Wendy will continue to wheel. We will make sure of that.

Signed,

Mom and Dad

Wow, thanks for all the kind words everyone. It makes me proud to have been a part of the best chapter of LOST. Seriously, I`ll miss all of you. It`s been one great ride and you know I`ll have to get down here some time to visit in the future.

I think Paragon for the MA run in Feb. should be the run we do for this. One last chance to hit the trails I know best and have many fond memories of. I can`t wait to see everyone and hope we get some new people to join us as well. Jeepin` is fun, everyone takes care of everyone, and the memories last a lifetime! Come join us!

Mike

It was a great day for 4-Wheelin'. Despite the cold we did lots of trails and the Park was set off with a touch of snow from the few snow squals. Farewell dinner, thanks to Edgar, was great finished off with a huge cake that was delicious. Stay tuned for more specifics and an onslaught of pics! Joe :-)r :-)r
