The Mopar tranny skid is what I had and failed on a mountain leaving me stranded for hours in a blizzard and hail storm. They're alot cheaper than the good ones though.

Pretty sure you have to drill holes where none exist now and mount it with a bolt and nut.

the holes line up here and there. just find whatever hole you want, then drill holes where there are none. not really a big deal. I freaked out when i first started drilling holes. but now, ive had this jeep apart in so many different places and ways, drilling holes here and there are the least of my worries. the mopar plates are nice, theyre better than nothing at all... but a better Tcase skid would be nice. that sumbiscuit seems flimzy. The trans skid i got was doubled up, seemed the best skid of them all. hmm. i dunno. at least these are light. adds a bit of insurance i guess. i didnt go wheelin anywhere until i had full skids under there. not worth it, the pates are relatively cheap. all i need now are some supersliders. cant wait for those.

300 bucks is only about 100 bucks more than the mopar tank skid, and depending on what year KJ ya got the tank skid can be hard to find

i personally like the Kilby gas skid which someone has for sale in the sale section by the way

$200 for the Mopar? Proly from the stealership. For the price of the good skid plate you could almost get a full set shipped from here. Yes I know their not as good but anything's better than nothing.

i have trouble trusting 'gauge steel' since it's just sheet metal :( already crumbled my tranny skid
