Excellent!!!

I've got my Frankenlift on the way, so I should be ready to go . . .

What about tools, equipment, etc... I don't have much in the way of auto tools (all home improvement type tools) but do we need to get a list going to make sure we have all that we need?

Brandon

Yea, we probably need a list. I'll get some stuff together and make a post about it.

And while we're at it, if anyone has any other stuff they want to put on their jeep (skid plates, powertrax lockers, rock rails, etc.) bring it along. Oh yea, I'll bring my SWR meter for tuning C.B. antennas, if y'all want to install a C.B. or tune one.

I don't have a lift but I do have a driveway that we could use if this falls through and a fair amount of tools. I live in West Houston so let me know.

Go ahead and make another Post of what work you'd like to do.

This way we can start to determine how much time we'll need, what tasks require the use of the lift, what can be done at the same time, and what tools will be necessary!

I'll Start:

1. Full Frankenlift Kit
2. Set of Supernerfs or Boulder Bars (undecided on which; Supernerfs may require some minor Cutting/Welding)
3. Transmission Skid Plate (If I can get one in time . . . but may not)

Now that I think about it, I've removed the bull bar that was on mine, but can't get the mounting brackets off. So, I'd like to get those off, but it doesn't require the lift and should only need basic hand tools.

I'm almost certain I can make the party! I don't have anything to add to my Jeep, but it would be great to meet everyone and I do have a fair amount of mechanical skills. I guess if there is a lift, there will be plenty of tools, but if we need to bring anything let me know. Lookin forward to it!

Should I bring the wife or not?

I'd say everyone bring what tools you have. Between all of us we should have plenty. I think I may buy a ball joint press, unless someone has one. Some air tools would be nice. We need a wheel/hub puller. I have a bunch of sockets and 2 torque wrenches. Y'all holler if y'all got some of this, if y'all don't, don't worry about it cause we'll make it work. And heck yea bring your wife or girlfriend if y'all want to.

I'm bringing my SWR meter to tune your C.B.s.

Yeah, the Boulder Bars are great quality, from what I've read . . . but I really like the look of the Supernerfs (they'll match the Bull Bar I'm putting on perfectly), and the Step functionality will be very useful for me. But, 90% of my Jeeps life has been on pavement, though I do want to do some wheeling one day . . . just haven't had the chance yet.

The Supernerfs look like they'd be better than the RRO Step Style rails for protection... so, I'm looking for the best compromise of rocker protection/quality as well as style and step function. Supernerfs seems to meet my needs . . . although quite pricey . . . does anyone know of any other ideas?

So chemguy, how do you like your supernerfs? Hows the step function work for ya? What do you think of their quality and rocker protection? I think they look awesome on the few pictures I've been able to find!

I like them a lot. Really saved my butt one time and have a dent to prove it. Hit a stump going pretty fast for where I was driving. Glad I had those suckers on there or my Jeep would have been toast!

Thats kewl! I don't mind them denting as long as they don't SNAP like a regular Nerf Bar will . . . Thanks for the feedback...

Just to confirm is this the Supernerf that you have:

I can weld. I have access to a welder as well. My brother has a shop right on IH 35 with 2 welders in it.

Those are the ones. They are strong as hell and do not dent easily. I really knocked the crap out it to get the dent I have. As for welding, I'm a crappy welder and let my buddy Dennis take care of that part.
