Sweet. I just picked up a Springfield XD 45ACP and love it. I didn't know Glock made the Model 33. My only issue with glocks is that they all seem way too short in the grip. My pinky always hangs off. Otherwise the guns are solid as can be.

I may have misread this, but I hope you are not leaving an unsecured firearm in a motor vehicle " full time."

If you are, please reconsider this. Most crooks are armed with guns stolen from careless/negligent owners.

Looks great. It would be great for those times I don't want to drive with it in my holster (it can get uncomfortable). Just be careful when you open the door; don't want to scare the public!

In Florida its legal to carry a fire arm in your vehicle with out a permit ,and long as it is secure and with a snap on the holster mounted like that it would be considered secure

Does it state whether it has to be concealed or in open view? Sorry to get semi off-topic, but I'm an NRA Instructor and I'm just a little interested is all.

In North Carolina we have a very vague law that isn't used very often. But the law is called going armed to the terror of the public. In essence, it COULD be used any time someone sees that you have a gun and it "scares" them. There have been a few times in the state that it has been used in "questionable" situations where the person was simply armed and not threatening anyone in any manner. There is also a city (don't recall which one) where open carry is actually illegal.

Back on topic: As for the mount above, I like the look of it. Not sure it would be practical for me (right handed). But we don't have a lot of places to put anything like that in the Libby's. I have thought about putting it in that door under the steering wheel. (that whole panel is hinged and just pulls open from the top) You could quickly pull that door down and have the gun in hand in seconds. It would also keep it from prying eyes.

Personally, I wouldn't ever advertise that I'm carrying or that there's a good chance there's a glock in my unattended vehicle. To me, concealed carry means concealed.

Also, in NC you can't mount a gun like that without a Conceal Carry permit. If you have a gun in the car it must be out in the open. It's very vague and confusing law. It has to be out in the open, but not encourage someone to steal it. It also has to be in easy access to the driver, but not hidden.

So, unless you have a CC permit, the best option is to mount it on the dash, I guess.

I second not advertising that you either carry or may have a handgun in the vehicle....its a good place to start to have someone constantly breaking out your windows looking for a free gun.....anyhow, when you guys are done carrying around tupperware, look into some serious steel.... wink wink....

I must say tho, great fabing on getting the holster and glock attached to the seat....still a good solution. never ever let our 2nd amend. go.....if you can get your carry permits regardless of the state you reside in....get it.

My point, to be more blunt, is not whether the firearm is advertised or not. It is the fact that leaving an unsecured firearm in an unattended motor vehicle, legal or not, is bad. Whether a crook is breaking in to steal a gun because some owner needed to show off their ownership or they are after the change in the ashtray & they then find the gun, it is bad. It is irresponsible. Period.

Maybe having three teens fire 33 rounds at me with guns stolen from a negligent owner gives me a different perspective on this.

A large number of crooks get their guns from irresponsible owners. They are not buying them retail & then robbing carryouts with them. A gun in a holster in the passenger area of an unattended car is not secure in any way, shape or form.

In my county in CO I can carry a loaded HANDGUN in my private means of transportation. It just needs to not be 'concealed' (unless you have a CCW permit), in other words it needs to be in something (holster) and not within arms reach.
If anyone's breaking into my KJ to get a gun...I probably already have it pointed at them.
My local laws say that concealed means within arms reach but not easily seen. Like under or next to the seat, in the glove box, etc.
AH I wish I was 21 already, for more than one reason (and those reasons happen to not mix very well) :lol:

A Glock 30 is on my short list after a Saiga .308 semi-auto long rifle.

This is off topic... a little bit... for this thread, but i wanna show off my redneck side. BTW thanks for this post I'm gonna mount my beauty in a similar fashion, just haven't figured out how i wanna do it yet. The pistol is kinda off to the side a lil bit, but it's a 92fs if you can't tell. I'll get my .357 or .44 later, but for now this does the trick and it's fun to shoot.

^^^I would not put a sticker on my jeep advertising a weapon. Sometimes I tuck the magnum holstered between the seat and console on a long drive, but if I get out of the jeep, the magnum comes with me. Always. No exception. It never ever stays in the parked jeep under any circumstances.

I've had my xd 45acp for about a month now and love it as well. If only I could find some ammo :cry:

Ok so I ripped off your idea, but it was a good one, here's a pic of mine, I wanted it mounted farther back, and i wanted the seat to be able to have full range of motion.

Yep, people are going crazy. Local Walmarts only allow 3 boxes of ammo per person. Some other shops only 2. Cabela's has no limit and I got lucky and picked up 400 rounds last time I was there. No near end in site as far as I can tell.
