Yep, people are going crazy. Local Walmarts only allow 3 boxes of ammo per person. Some other shops only 2. Cabela's has no limit and I got lucky and picked up 400 rounds last time I was there. No near end in site as far as I can tell. :(

I checked recently here in Atlanta --

Richard's Sporting Goods, Walmart, and the gun shops were empty unless you were looking for .22 short, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, or .410 shot shells!!!

Sportsman's Guide, Cheaper than Dirt, and all the other places I would normally consider buying bulk ammo from have nothing in 9mm that I would pay for.

Haven't been to the range in months since I have less than 50 rounds on hand in the house.

i took my friend to the range to give her some pistol classroom and range time, they only allowed us 1 box of ammo per person, 100 rounds went down range way too quick :(

i was full ready to sit there and drop atleast 10 boxes of brass on the deck, apparently even reloading powder and rounds are scarce

i guess it's time to get a 45-70 and scavenge the junk yard for 3/4 ton wheel lugs and start melting down and buy a tub of gun butter

Wow.....they are limiting how much ammo you can shoot. Around here ammo has been flying off the shelves but no limitation at the range. But I do belong to a private club right up the street and use their ranges. I have limited my own use of magnum ammo and shoot the P22 more.

Range? WE dont need no stinky range!
Tell me about the ammo, lol. I have 3k rounds still on order from Cabelas all on back order. Luckily I have enough for a few more trips but still. Here in Vegas it is getting harder and harder to find ammo of any type...unless you need 7mm :)

This is off topic... a little bit... for this thread, but i wanna show off my redneck side. BTW thanks for this post I'm gonna mount my beauty in a similar fashion, just haven't figured out how i wanna do it yet. The pistol is kinda off to the side a lil bit, but it's a 92fs if you can't tell. I'll get my .357 or .44 later, but for now this does the trick and it's fun to shoot.

Indeed I love that. Too funny.
The Walmart down the road from me has finally gotten some 223 in...they actually had 12 boxes. Key term had. :) I am still waiting for my ammo from Cabelas. They keep pushing it further and further back. I ordered the stuff back in Feb, lol. One day I will get it.
Also waiting for my holster...should be next week I think. *crosses fingers*

Seriously? No permit needed for a loaded gun in a vehicle in NV?

Sweet.

:) Most SW states are like that. I can open carry here in AZ, NV, CO, and NM. Love it :D

You can carry a loaded weapon in a vehicle as long as it is in sight as long as you don't cross state lines with it. This applies to most states except a select few.

I also have my concealed permit. But, I carry one in my Jeep at all times on the road.

I used the holster mount and love it... I have a XDM (sub compact version of the XD). I carry a Millenium Taurus Pro...

This is a great thread... kudos for those who choose to protect themselves. :JEEPIN:

I would ditch the taticool sling if you plan on wearing a loaded vest. 3pt slings are for chairborne commandos and people who don't need to actually shoot AND move.

One of my best friends ran the S4 shop, C-co 3/75 in Somalia, who were you with?

Actually I got rid of that vest not long ago (gave it to a friend for 50 bucks), if I would have kept up with that thread i would have offered it here. Got the new Phoenix Vest - and yea i put the umbrella patches back on :-)r , also bought a new Beretta PX4 Storm in .45 ACP to go along with the M9 there, after a guy pulled a gun in a burger king parking lot i wanted a little extra in the jeep with me. As far as the 3pt sling, it's a quick disconnect not entirely comfortable that way but trust me it doesn't hinder any movement. Plus with the new vest it holds the weight better, I don't even feel the weight anymore, just for kicks I'll throw up a pic later with the new setup.

I have since removed this holster mount location and moved the holster into the Arm Rest in the middle. Used a BladeTech Holster to mount it securely. The Baby Glock is now out of site and under cover. Really like this setup better. Can be retrieved very quickly and without weird physical moves. Driver or Passenger access with ease. Checking at local locksmith to configure a lock for the lid.

The gun is in the same spot every time with the handle pointed up not flopping around in the Cargo box.

That setup makes so much more sense. I will be interested to see what you and your locksmith come up with for a locking mechanism.

Any chance of pictures?
