I'm trying to locate something online and I can't think of the name to search with.... maybe someone else can name it

I'm basically looking for steel metal tubing (between 1/4-3/4" OD) that is threaded internally. Anyone know where one could get such a thing?

try searching for coupling - how long?? All thread or hanger couplings are about 2".

or try threaded coupling add bolt size to the search - 5/16 18 1/4 20 3/8 16 - etc.

I can't tell you exactly what they're called, but I did see something like what you're describing at Tractor Supply Co. They were in the section w. all the hardware like "U" bolts, barn-door hardware, large hinge plates, etc. I think they are mostly used for joining longer pieces of threaded rod??? I think this might be it.

Or, you can just do a keyword search on tractorsupply.com using "threaded rod". Hope this helps.

I know I'm bringing this up from the depths but it may help someone in this search.

Depending on application, you could even weld a nut on the end of the tube.

big rigs use stuff like that for various linkages from time to time, we always called them threaded sleeves or **** sticks, called them **** sticks because they ****in stick after grime and crud and rust gets in them and it takes a hot wrench to get them loose lol

also called threaded pipe (misleading) or female threaded pipe

i prefer to call them **** sticks
