SO much has been going through my head on what tires to get. I have narrowed the size to 31/10.5/15. But I wanted to see what everyone thought of these tires, any expereinces with them would be wonderful and how they have treated you. I really would like to know how well they clean themselves while going through mud. If you have any information you would like to share that would be great. Thanks fellas!!

-No info on the Firestones.
-The MTZ are supposed to be very nice tires.
-The Baja Claws are great off road but are hard, loud, and heavy which make them a nightmare on road.
-The KM2s are all the rage and the only complaint I've heard is the sidewalls aren't the strongest.

I'd get the KM2s or MTZs, whichever costs less.

i go for the KM2, longer lasting out of them all i would say

I've had the KM2's for 4 months now with no visible sign of wear. They have performed amazing on the trails, pulled me through very thick and muddy ruts, and are great on the roads. I will say this though, they are a MT, they are big and loud, and you feel them on highway speeds.

I have seen the MTZs work really well in mud... beat only by Super Swamper Boggers, they outperformed everything else in the mud. Very impressive if there is mud in your future.

I've heard great things about the KM2's, I would have definately gotten them if I had the money.

I have the firestone mt's and love them ! great tire offroad, and have good mannerisms on road for daily driving.

No info on them Inc ? check out tirerack - rated #1 there in the 'offroad' class

I haven't run, and I've stayed away from them since I had a set of Firestones that blew out in my driveway and my folks had a set that blew on the freeway on their ZJ.

I have km2's and i really like them. (lt235/85/r16 LR-E @ 32 inch)

The on road manners are excellent, the noise is quieter than i thought they would be (but still annoying at lower speeds sometimes)

I run mine at 40 (80 sidewall) psi and they corner verrrry well, i was getting excessive outer wear when i was running 35 psi.

They are a better street tire than stock, and clearly an excellent off road tire.

I run them about 11-12 psi off road and they do great, at higher pressures though, they dont do so good. I know this is true for every type of rubber, but it seems more so on these. Maby it's the weight of the crd or the width of my particular size.

I have had 0 chunking, and that's verry surprising considering the kind of crap i put them on.

I have had exellent wear so far (except for when i was under inflated)

I think these shoes can handle more serious off roading than your likely to put a liberty through, but at the same time you get excellent street manners.

Are they the best off road rubber? no. but they are an EXELLENT jeep tire.

The Firestones are rated #1 in the Tire Rack reviews.
I'll probably get them when time for tires.

For looks, I like the Kuhmo MT KL71.

That chart has the old mtr's and the old km's. It's not a valid source of data.

Off road maximum traction, to me, would describe

Super Swamper boggers/ssr/sx/ltb/tsl
Interco Irok TSL's/ss-m16 Swamper
BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX
Richard Cepek crusher
Maxxis Creepy Crawler
Pit Bull Rocker
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw/baja crusher (imho better than claw)
I'm sure i'm missed a lot
etc etc

Anyway there are alot of serious tiers out there.

Well it depends on how serious the intentions for the tire are.

And I have found the destinations for 148, the MTZ for 174, and claw for 178. But I probably wont go claw

Not sure if the place you mentioned will match to someone that doesn't do free shipping , but maybe.

See thats what I did but their shipping is like 60 and some change which puts it to like 712 while this over place, discount tires direct, its 688 or so with free shipping. And the discount tire direct people go by over all price. so tire rack gets beat by 24$

IIRC, Discount Tire has free shipping only to your local store. So you will have to pay sales tax in addition to the cost of the tires.

If they ship to a store, you will pay tax. If they ship to your door you won't. Call them and make sure.
