i leave the top & sides (mostly the sides) off my TJ most of the time even on rainy days. well, obviously it gets really wet inside & sometimes the floor will have little puddles built up. my question is ,would it be best to just remove the carpet & padding alltogether (it's starting to get a little nasty) & get some rubber floor mats or something? also, are there any drain holes under the carpet that will lessen water build up?

Line-X the interior, and if there aren't drains, weld in some small pipe collars underneath and put in some hex key plugs or something. I'm not sure how that jeep has its wiring, but the KJ has it running on the floor. You'll want to move it if it's there...I'd hope it's not in a wrangler though.

Wow, you still have the carpet? Yes there are drain plugs under there.

They run along the sides of the tub where the tub meets the side panels. Out of the way for bedlining. Just move them out of the way, linex (or whatever) and pop them back in place.

Share pics of how you do yours. My son is wanting to do his TJ tub. I'm sure as soon as he saves the bux for it we will tackle it.

There are tons of threads on jeepforum about putting bed liner in the tub of the Jeep. Just search for "Herculiner". That is a do it yourself roll/brush on type. There is another DIY called U-Pol Raptor which can be applied with a spray gun. And off course paying to get Rhino or Line-X. The main thing is that if you want it to come out good, you must properly prep the tub. That means sanding and scuffing every nook and cranny or the liner will end up peeling in the spots you miss. Some people do the prep work and get a professional spray on just to save the labor cost. Lining my tub is also on my wish list of things I want to do when the money becomes available.

We have plugs in floor where ever we had low spots we drilled 1/2" holes and put plugs in. If you do line it be sure to scuff the paint a bit so it sticks. Who ever did mine didn't and it's all comming up. I'm getting ready to redo it after I get my axels back under it.
