I had the dealer do the TSB above for my 08kk transmission shudder between 30-45 mph. They did reflash the computer but it still does it.

My build date is November 07. Any of you have similar issues??

Thanks,
Ravi

Here is another TSB that more for Shudder #18-027-08a.I had to have this done as well as the one you had done,.It involves erasing your PCM and reprogram with new software. My tranny shifts alot better after having both TSBs done.Hope this helps.

Just tried this and this is what it shows:
Here are your results :
VIN Number:
1J8GN28K2 8W171691 Vehicle Description:
JEEP LIBERTY SPORT 4X4 SPORT UTILITY 4-DR Model Year:
2008

No Incomplete Recalls or Customer Satisfaction Notifications Exist

I was just reading the Dodge Nitro forums and there are horror stories about guys having to replace their torque converters, transmissions, drive shafts and still have the same problem. I traded my beloved Jeep cherokee for this piece of crap :(

thats weird that none of the tsbs show up for your car, but neither they do for mine, and im not sure of its true or not, i called chrysler and they said they cant tell me over the phone and i have to take it to the dealer, but there are no dealers in brooklyn!:)
mine does not have shudder but it sure does have a slight kick whne it switches from 1st to 2nd during very slow acceleration

Mine does the shudder thing at exactly 1500 rpms between 40-45 mph. The only way to get over it is if i give it more gas, but that is not the solution. I guess i will have the other TSB done and see what it does. I am not very hopeful after reading the stuff on the Nitro forum.

So much for their life time warranty BS

So I Called the dealer again today. he says the other TSB# above is only for liberty's built before October 23, 2007 (It also says on the TSB, mine is November 07) but believe it or not i tried to use my AC for the first time yseterday and there was hardly any cold air. I told the dealer about this and he told me to bring it in on Wednesday.

Meanwhile I also called chrysler and updated them about everything so far and they told me to take it to the dealer again and then have the dealer give them a call. Apparently they will email them the latest file for the reflash from the chrysler tech. I will keep you guys posted.

sometimes i'll be at a red light and the jeep almost shuts off but comes back on (rarely but happens enough to notice 3x's a week)

Im not sure if this works for Jeeps, but on Dodge Chargers,we can recalibrate the throttle buy turning key to on position, press the gas pedal down then let up pedal slowly.Turn off key, then start and the throttle should take out the hesitation.I had to do this to my Charger, and it worked. Its one of the biggest complaints.I hope it works.Good Luck.

Hey VMF,
Mine is doing the same thing. I've had the TSB done where they reprogram the PCM and I've had a new valve body installed under warranty. Still does it.....

TSB #18-027-08a is for all 08 KK(auto) built before June 17 08.That about covers all 08 KK.The dealers are giving some of you the wrong info. This TSB is direct from Chrysler and if you give them that number, they should do the TSB.Another thing,Recalls and Customer satisfaction has nothing to do with TSB.I've notice on here and other forums that dealers are BSing their customer, because TSB cost Chrysler money, and they need to save as much as they can.Dont let the Dealer BS you.

The TSB#18-027-08a will also take care of your A/C problem. It involves the Shudder, plus A/C problem.Plus dont forget with any KK built before June 17.2008,so your qualify for this TSB.

So I took the jeep to the dealer and he had a technician take a ride with me to hear the shudder. I took him around the block and he was convinced it's the torque converter. I have to drop it there for a few days and they will have a loaner for me. I will see what they do.

Friday, I had the TSB done at the dealer, since my AC wasn't as cold as I would like it and the TSB covered it and the shudder. The acceleration appears to really improved as far as I can tell. I just asked the dealer about the TSB, he looked it up and told me what it would do and that was it. No hassle at all. As a matter of fact I had condensation in my front turn signals which I asked about and now I am returning Tuesday for new turn signals. I been so far very satisfied with my dealer.
