plenty of desert off roading requires speed-just look at the sand dunes. Zeero I realize desert racing isn't your cup of tea-but a Jeep is meant to be an all terrain vehicle. That includes deserts which generally require a high rate of speed to keep from sinking in the sand. And just because it's a Jeep doesn't mean we shouldn't race em!

There is a long history of racing jeeps.I can even remember the stories my Dad told of early"dune running" in the North African desert during WWII.I first ran into the jeepspeed3 info in the dreaded JP mag.They seem to be pulling away from the rockcrawling image and a racing Liberty might make them sit up and take notice.I also was surprised to read the Liberty write-ups on the JP website.They were much more realistic than the foolish put-downs that appear in the magazine.

I would love to get involved with something like Jeepspeed along with the traditional rockcrawling fun- too many hobbies, not enough $$$ :-p

Are there any Pro's, design wise for the KJ? Maybe the IFS- I've seen that a lot in baja type vehicles?

Is it a little too heavy for this kind of competition?
