The fog lights on my '05 Renny stopped working, basically when I try to turn them on nothing happens, and there is no dummy light on the dash saying wether they are on or not. I did check the fuse and it looked fine to me, however I haven't checked the bulbs. I have only used them a few times for over 30min other than that I rarely use them.

I plan on taking it in next week when I'm off. But I would like to know what could go wrong with the fog lights so I know if the dealership is screwing with me or not. Thanks!!

Justin

if there is a fuse on the circuit (i believe there is)-replace it. If that isn't it, you may be looking at a relay or faulty switch. Most resistors at the dealer are fairly inexpensive (I paid $11 for the heater/blower motor relay at the dealer). It could be bad bulbs but I have never heard of two going out at the same exact time...

I checked the fuse for it and it's fine, i don't hear the relay clicking and I agree that the chances of both bulbs going out are pretty slim unless there was another electrical problem.

well, something is preventing the relay from pulling in, either the fuse is done and it isnt visible (use a continuity tester), or, there is a/some wire/s loose somewhere. or, the relay could be smoked. good luck

I'm thinking the switch it's self... you can find out if your getting any juice with a volt meter

check the switch if you get GOOD voltage (check a service manaul for the right voltage for the switch) the replace the fuse. I have seen lots of fuses that looked good but taught me to keep a spare if you catch my drift. How are you testing the relay? A new relay is pretty cheap at a dealer...
