I have had it for about a year and half. I have alittle over 20,000 miles on it. Milage should really not be an issue to me i really dont think being this new there should be a problem like this. I know the plastic in new cars is pretty cheap and soft but to seem to scratch like this just does not seem right.

MY08KK how many miles are on your KK? Just curious as to how much "use" you've got out of it.

My 08 doesn't even have 1 scratch on the doors. I have a 70lb rott in there from time to time and I have a 5 year old.

You need to take it back to the dealer and make a very big stink about that. There is no way it should look like that.

For sure. I agree totally. They need to make it right!

Sorry My08KK....

I forgot, i've got the Limited model, and therefore interior "chrome" accents.

My KK doors have black inserts in the "grip", and a "chrome (read: shiney grey plastic)" cap on top of the armrest where yours is scratching. For what it's worth, that cap's not scratching at all, not sure what's under it though.

I've had 10 year old cars that fare better than your armrest.

Well got some good news i guess. Dealer recognized this as a problem and said it was a defective part. They are gonna replace them under warranty. I tried to see if they would replace them with the chrome handles but was told it was direct replacement only. I even asked if i could pay the difference but that was not allowed. I would have to pay full price for chrome handles. Oh well at least i will be getting new ones.

Oh and the lame excuse i got why this was happening was due to the heat and humidity. I just laughed and said fine order the new parts.

Yeah thats good that they are going to replace it. A few others have posted similar problems so now they know there is a fix for it!
