Im staying in Nags Head, NC for the week. Just wondering if any of you guys have some good trails to check out. I am just looking for somewhere to go off of a paved road to explore. Also, any suggestions for best area to drive on the beach? Thanks in advance...

There are a couple of spots depending on what you like. We stayed in Kitty Hawk when we went.

If you go north up to Corolla, the main road becomes the beach and leads into the horse sanctuary. This is about a 30 - 40 min drive, but very very worth it. This is all sand driving from there on in and right on the beach. Very beautiful up there. Just remember to turn off your ESP when you get in the sand.

Another place is right after bodie island light house. This is about a 25 min drive. Before you cross the bridge after bodie island there is an entry on your left (if going south) that provides excellent beach access and sand driving. If you are brave enough you can drive all the way down to almost under the connecting intercoastal bridge.

Have fun, it is great out there. We went in July and I already miss it.
