Jerry can mounted to roof rack

I need to see Jerry cans mounted to a roof rack... any roof rack before I purchase my water and gas cans!

You get nothing and you will like it!

If you do a search you will find a few options. I have one bookmarked at home that I will shoot over to you. I keep an eye on this type from time to time.

Its a steel can and holder I got from Northern.

The rack is off the Jeep right now. I'll try to get some close up pics for you this weekend, and post them here.

did you use the carrier for the gas can? or just strap it up there?

I mounted the carrier to the rack, then strap the can to the mount. With todays gas prices, I also lock the can to the rack with a cable and padlock.

pics as promised. You can see how I mounted it better than I can describe it. I mounted this while the rack was on the Jeep. Now that the rack is off, I may try to move it more to one side. I used the mount to err on the side of caution. I don't want to worry about 5 gallons of gas flying off the front of the Jeep in the unlikely event of a crash.

I ran mine on their side, the NATO style cans, for quite a while. I was never pulled over or harassed about them and they never leaked a drop. I secured them in their mounts with one of those heavy duty rubber bungee cords.
