After three years of having the fog light mod instructions saved on my computer, I finally got around to doing it this morning. I love having the the ability to see the whole road while driving. The instructions can be found here.... http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread. ... post392801

It allows the fog lights to be used while the high beams are on. Or you could have just read the link.

I find that having the first 15 feet of pavement that bright reduces my ability to see the dim further distances. I like the factory lights that leave the first few feet a little dimmer.

Good write-up in that link to jeepkj. I need to add that to my list of things to do. Basically a free mod as long as you have some wire and connectors. I'm with you Nurse, use the inline splice instead of soldering.

Great, so this lets you leave your fogs on 100% of the time regardless of the lack of bad weather or you're driving through the shopping mall. Where I live I swear 50% never ever turn them off. end rant

Not at all. They will only come on when I so desire. I usually have them on when driving at night though, whether there is fog or not. Regardless of what Chrysler calls them, they are NOT Fog lights. They are driving lights. Fog lights are yellow or orange in color, because that color penetrates further in the fog. I wish I did have fog lights this time of year.

There is actually a much easier way to do this:

Using your local DRBIII, go into Cluster -> Configuration -> Change the setting "Fog Light Dropout with high beam" (I forget the exact wording) to disable and you can now have fog lights with high beams without hacking up the wiring, plus it's easily reversible if you're in an area where having both on is illegal.

I've done this to a few KJ's for friends now and it works like a champ.

Too late for me now. Thanks for the info though. Maybe you could put this one in the tech section.

I got a Brite Box to do this. It keeps the low beams on and the fogs on when the high beams are on. I also put on of these on my 06 Dodge and it will allow the use of a high beam bulb in the fogs. Very nice.
