I dont understand why everyone is going crazy over shipping, my lift kit was only $30? Is it the size that makes the bumper so much more?

lol, good ol kentucky doesnt even have a bumper law, GO KENTUCKY!

From what point do you measure the bumper anyways? I would like to check mine.

It's the dimensional weight thing. Example: A box could only be a total shipping weight of 30 lbs, but if the dimensions exceed the total cubic limits, it could go from $20 to $120 in a big hurry if it is over by one inch. And those two guys are from Australia, so I would be concerned about shipping as well.

Several of the guys discussing the shipping costs are from outside the US...much more expensive to ship out of the US.

the shipping cost is one thing its also the exchange rate

for every 1 US dollar we have to come up with 1.33 Australian

OK, got the measurements all done for the front bumper. Today, I finished redesigning the front bumper while Ted do a washer bottle relocation project, that for only $7 and about about an two hours of his time, worked out awesome. He was just doing the washer bottle thing without instructions, so for the customers purchasing this front bumper, instructions for the washer bottle replacement will be available which will knock the install time down dramatically.

So, with the washer bottle out of my way, I was able to bring the bottom of the bumper up about 2" from what it was before, but the biggest thing was gaining about 10* on the bottom angle of the bumper, making approach angle very nice. So here are some pictures of the new front setup. I didn't finish the other side because that takes up valuable time that could be spent drawing up the manufacturing plans for these things, so use your imagination.:D

OK, here is the comparison of the bumper from last weekend with the washer bottle in the way, and the one today. You can see, looking at the pass side bolt on the bottom arm the clearance gained. Doesn't seem like too much, but is it about 2", and the bottom slant improved by 10*.

No washer bottle

Here is a real nice side profile to give the best idea on gained approach angle

And some more random shots. That is the location of the hitch receiver. Can't go any higher with the front crossmember in the way. Shackle tabs will be on the same level about 15" to either side of the hitch tube.

I will be taking the design plans in on Tuesday, so should have front bumper prices for you guys by the end of the week. Relocating the washer bottle was cake, so you guys don't have to stress about that. In a few weeks, I will get ahold of the 05+ KJ and start on those bumpers.

So I take it for a better fit the washer bottle has to go or be moved. And if we own a CRD, we might as well just get rid of it altogether, unless you have figured out an alternate location???

For now have the liners out and I just undercoat painted it so it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb

I still need to get ahold of a CRD before I can tell you for sure. Ted (USAFCOP) picked up a 2.5Q and 1.5Q bottle from Autozone, and the 1.5 quart fit perfectly between the filter box and the headlight. I'll try to find a CRD sometime this week, unless I can get some really good pics of between the filter box and headlamp assembly.

Hitch receiver will stick out a little further, right? Gotta have the locking pin holes.

Looks awesome!

Hmmm. I have fog lights that's covered by the bumper. Will this be taken into account?

I'd venture to guess that ROCKLIZARD is probably going with what you see. Cost of production to incorporate fogs into the bumper is going to be higher. Probably have to mount aftermarket driving lights in front of the grill. :(

aftermarket hella 500 fogs work better then the stockers as well. You also don't have to worry about the lense cracking like many of us have had happen.

OR you could cut out holes yourself and put them in.

No Fog lamp holes. The factory ones suck anyway. I am going to put a set of amber PIAA 55 w Fogs on mine, so you will see how that works.

You will be able to get to the pin, the bumper will be notched to allow the pin to go in the hole w/o having the hitch tube kill our approach when the winch is off.

As for the washer bottle issue on the crd, It depends on the size of your airbox. do not worry, we will find something, and I will do up some instructions on how to make what I am using work, so you won't have to guess like I did.

Bill those stockers are pretty weak, You'd be better off selling them on EBAY and working something else out.

lots of people crack the lenses or their KJ's didn't come with them...I would make a post in the for sale section here... You could probably get $30-$40 for em which is halfway to new hella 500's which perform better then stock...
