Ok, here's the deal.
Towards the end of last month I ordered a new Liberty 4x2. Now however, I kind of want to change it to a 4x4. Unfortunately that means I'll lose $1000 in rebates and $1700 for the upgrade itself.

What do you guys think, would it be worth it? What is the gas milage difference and other costs between a 4x2 and a 4x4?

thanks everyone

you don't need 4x4 (just ask the1jferg) but if you want to get into any kind of offroading you will want it...If you're worried about the cost, buy used...

Definately go with the 4x4, if you plan on going in the sand you'll be glad you did.

You live in AZ. You gotta have the 4x4. Nuff said!

I will add that there are a million Awesome places in AZ. alone to see where you might need that 4x4 and you will not regret getting the 4x4. Just hooking up w/ the AZ L.O.S.T. guys on a couple runs alone would make it worth it. However, if you get the 4x2, you will Eventually regret Not having a 4x4.

See you on the trail in your new 4x4.

BTW, Regardless of what you end up doing, WELCOME! You are still in great company here and I bet we could still get you through some pretty great trails in your 4x2.

I got the 4x2 the first time and ended up trading it in for a 4x4. Ride quality doesn't change and for some odd reason I got better mpg with the 4x4?!?
If you want a barely used 2005 Renegade 4x4...I am selling mine. Not because I don't love it, believe me I do!!! I just have to pay for Grad school so I have to get rid of every luxury in my life right now :? . I live in AZ too!
