Driving down the road yesterday and the gear shift came off. It shifted very loose for a few miles while you're in a state of dis-belief, and then it pulled out of a big rubber grommet inside. I kinda crammed it back in there, it went to my surprise and fortunately, I was only about 1/2 mile from the dealership. They put it back together and did not charge me. Said they'd never seen that before.

Didn't I just read somewhere last week where this happened to someone else? :?:

Then, the lever, locking thingy that supposed to lock your steering wheel column is now decided it's going to simply fall down. Anyone discover a way to tighten that thing? I sure couldn't. :?: :?: :?:

That'll wedge up nice with a folded piece of cardboard. Great.

I did an attempt at a search, got 20,005 responses. I wanted to learn what we do about these particular problems, surely these two issues have been discussed before?

If you can, please do coach me on how to better use the search feature as I don't seem to drill the bedrock for answers, so I usually just ask.

Well, ok. I was still in the hunt as to how to better work the search feature. I found this old post and thought it might help :D

OK for all the new members (and you too Mike) the easiest way to try and narrow down search results with the default phpBB search function is to use the 'and' modifier in your search. So lets say I was going to look for 'jba 12 inch lift', I type it in just like that and I get 10145 matches Now I add in the 'and' modifier so my search string is (bold added for emphasis) 'jba and 12 and inch and lift' and I get back 29 matches - much easier to look through for information

Another option is to use google and enter site:Lostkjs.com and then what you are looking for.

Example: site:Lostkjs.com jba 12 inch which returns six (6) results.
(Thanks to Maximum Carnage and a couple of other folks for pointing that one out).

I still can't find anything on the cripple steering wheel column lock lever issue. :?

2006, 3.7, 6-speed and the lock lever just falls down. Does anyone know if there is there a method to tighten this pesky lever? :?:
