Hi Guys, Thought you may want to see a Magiolina Roof Tent fitted on Jeep. Anyone using one, What do you think of the set up? Can be erected in just 30 seconds, expensive though, further info can be found at Autohomes.Com

Is that yours?

Maggiolinas are very cool... just very spendy... I can't see the justification over the Mombasa's and whatnot.

Hi, No it's not mine, saw this some time ago. Would consider a roof tent though for ease of erection/speed etc. As you say cost wise I will look into other alternatives.

Those are cool in how they work, but man does it make the KJ look kind of like a minivan with some luggage carrier on top when its closed.

There is no way 'd want that weight on top of my SFA KJ, but it does look awesome all opened up like that.

I may go the route that d-tang did and do a tent on top of my trailer, but not sure I'll ever get to it.

Now that's something that has been holding me back. However the Maggiolina looks aerodynamic and the load looks evenly spread. Been to South Africa a few times on safari tours, have family living out there and I have seen 4x4 that have gone arse over tip with heavy roof tents loaded on them. That could also be down to driver though cornering to fast etc.
