Does anyone know how I could go about getting the european rear bumper/spare tire cover with the license plate holder for an 05' Renegade? I can't find them on ebay and I heard that US dealerships cannot order european parts without having a euro style KJ to work on.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'd like to do the same thing. I wonder if the bumper covers mount up the same, something about that off centered license plate drives me nuts. It looks cool on the spare, like a Land Rover.

I wonder if they'll allow me to bring a bumper cover back on a plane...I could plan my honeymoon around it.

Haha I'm sure that you could have it put on a ups plane, if nothing else. Your spouse might not go for that though!

you gotta pick the spots you want to see

say brisbane to Ayres rock ( Uluru) is just over 3000 kilometers or almost 1900 miles by road

the great barrier reef and daintree wilderness area is about 2000 kilometers or about 1250 miles

the distance from Sydney to perth it 3958 kilometers or about 2500 miles

hope that helps

but i do know there is a company in QLD that has a wrecked 2004 KJ exactly the same as mine <- ( see avatar )called Jeeeparts in Hervey Bay QLD here is the link

http://www.jeeeprecycling.com.au/

and they do ship overseas

let em know an Ausjeepoffroad.com member told you to contact them

Regards

I contacted JeepRecycling, I hope to hear something soon. That would work out great since your Jeep is identical to mine. Having it shippied would probably be less than having one painted.

I have no idea what the future wife wants to see in Oz. I'd definately like to see Ayres Rock, is climbing allowed? I'm not particularly interested in the reef, or the big cities, I'd like to check out some of the natural wonders. Any recommendations?

If you or your better half like Rain Forest , the Daintree National park in Far North QLD , World Heritage Listed Rainforest, ( Salt water crocodiles live there)

You Also have the atherton tablelands,

Another interesting area is Kakadu National Park Tropical wetlands , and there is Uluru (Ayres rock ) yes you can still Climb it ( i Dont know for how long though)

If you like wine there is the Yarra Valley in Melbourne The Barossa Valley near Adelaide South Australia,

The great ocean road is a very nice drive

Tasmania has some beautiful Eucalypt forests and Cradle Mountain

I guess the one thing to remember

Australia as a land mass is about the same distance coast to coast as the continental USA, so if you do come down for your Honeymoon :) plan ahead

Hope that helps

Oh and if you Get bored sight seeing

We could oranise a LOST Downuner Run for you ;)

I just priced one here in Germany and it came out to 600euros. It is the complete rear tire holder. I am sure I could send you one if you wanted. I have to look at getting this as I will be using the new long european plates. I too will be doing a ton of e-spec parts replacement as soon as I can get mine. The dealer has changed vehicles again and I am now looking at a red KJ instead of the silver one I was getting.

600 euros plus shipping would be a LOT

Thanks for the offer, but does anyone know of a way that I could get one within the US?

****edit, found my previous post***
Incase anyone was wondering, the part number is 5GE72CD7AD - Cost is 132.80
For the reflectors, the part number is 4399791 and they are sold individually for 11.30 each.

I just got mine done last week, dealers CAN order the parts, mine did.
PM'd with more info.
if anyone has any questions about this, PM me... i just had mine done last week. ~$600 for the bumper installed (minus plate holder on the spare)

yes, 600 is high, but it was ~130 for the bumper, 102 for each bumper pad, (334 in parts) + Labor... eh, insurance paid for it, so no worries for me.
I wonder what the cost of the export style lisence plate holder is from the dealer... $200?

What is the bumper pad you are talking about? Is it the black pieces that run along the top? Are they different than the American ones, if so do you have a part number?

Man, I really appreciate everything you're doing for me. I have no idea how much shipping would be, but I imagine it's less than having them painted. Maybe he can just throw them on the Greyhound that comes this way?

The fiance bit on the Australia idea for the honeymoon, a local tuxedo shop is throwing in plane tickets if we get 7 tuxes from them, which shouldn't be a problem. She didn't seem too thrilled about my bumper though.
