proper wiring for new fuel filter head?

My deader is unable to tell me the proper splicing for the new fuel filter head they sold me? Really? The new wiring harness pigtail for the heater hookup needs the two wires spliced. Can someone tell me the proper wiring? Thanks

it's 12 volts - one's hot - one's ground
if the color's not obvious - a multimeter will be.

It may not even matter - it's a heater
unless there's a diode somewhere it'll work either way.

On my heater wires they were colored red and black.
Red = +
Black = -
The 68043086AA wiring kit I picked up from the dealer had no red or black wires there were two greenish and two purple wires. The green were 12’s and the purple were 16’s. the factory heater wires were 14’s go figure. I ended up using the 12’s there should be less resistance.
Also make sure you solder your wires and do not use crimp connectors as your main fastener.

We just wired one of our CRDs up today. You use one green and one purple, matching them up by size with the factory wires. It should be fairly obvious which is which.

We used marine grade crimp and shrink tubing... Don't see any reason why not.

Yeah but my kit came with the wires not even in the connection, need to know what side is + on the heater

Yea, mine was the same way. I forget what it is offhand... Match the new plug up with the old plug, so that the latch is facing down, and that should indicate which side the fat wire goes into.

Are all of you keeping the heater plugged in at all? I have the new filter head, but I left the heater unplugged.

The main point for unplugging it was the leak on the old style head
the new style head fixes it
if your fuel coming into the engine is too cold it doesn't run as well
(not much of an issue in Texas)

So far, I have had no issues with fuel temp, my Jeeps are in a garage, so that helps the fuel alot, I guess if they sat in the cold all night, it would be a different situation. I would hate to see that new connector burn one of the Jeeps up. So, it will be unplugged until the day I really need it.

The new connector won't hurt anything... that was the whole point of installing it. You can leave it plugged in, like intended, without any worries.
