Who other than taurus makes a 9mm/40SW ish cal pistol that's similar to the taurus slim 9 (9+1 rd cap)

gf has really small hands

she can handle the large frame autos but they aren't comfortable for her

don't really want to give up my slim, sucker has no profile

If larger frames are not comfortable for her due to recoil, a small frame will be worse, unless you go down in power. If they are uncomfortable due to size, check out the Kahr PM9, though they are pricey. The Kel-Tec P11 is a more economical alternative. If you can find a place that rents them both, have her try them.

she doesnt have a problem with the recoil, it's the grip size

the taurus slim i have is just about perfect if not a touch to the small side

just wanna find her somethin, other than my slim 9mm

unlike my cereal choices, i do like variety :D

ill check out both of those suggestions, thanks!

I bought my wifey a Kahr K-9, 9mm for Christmas. Single stack holds 7+1. She poped 200 caps the first time out and loves it. A few years back Kahr made a Lady K-9 and it had a little bit easier spring and was engraved "Lady K-9" or something. I am actually ordering one of those springs today for my wifey's K-9. She can handle it like it is and chamber it with no issues, but when she trys to lock the slide open, it is tough for her. Other than that, the lighter spring arguably really only means you wouldn't want to pound the gun with +P ammo all day long.

Here's a few links for you. Enjoy and, Semper Fi.

Kahr K9 is a perfect concealment gun for women.

The Kahr K9 9mm semi-auto pistol has an overall length of 6 inches, a height of 4 1/2 inches and a slide width of .9 inches. Specifications that make the K9 highly concealable. The K9 is also a reasonably lightweight gun, weighing 25 ounces, with a respectable maximum capacity of 7+1.

Test firing the K9 demonstrated the merit of the design. The gun fit comfortably in my hand and was very accurate off-hand shooting. There was very little felt recoil and this helped in the accuracy department. Three other women test fired the K9 on the same day I did and all were favorably impressed. This would be a great gun to recommend to your customers who have expressed concern about recoil.

I have a Kahr PM9. About the smallest lightest 9mm you will find.

Its pretty small, I have fairly big hands. took a while for me to master.

The Ruger LCP is a great gun for small hands. With is being so small, though, even the .380 gives a pretty good kick. Great compact gun.

This is not a 9mm but its compact and afordable.... Bersa Thunder .380 I have had mine since 2004. I have small hands for a guy myself and I have had my best friends kid shoot it at the range, he had no problem handling it. not much recoil either.

thanks for the input guys, never been real informed on the compact market

she doesn't have a problem with slides, it's just grip and control, she cycles both my DSS and my XD with no problem

female Marine hands i guess

i'm pretty good at balancing loads and springs, pretty much made my glock .45 recoiless - it just kinda twitches and makes loud noises

looks like it's time for me to go shoppin :)

only two taurus slim's i've been able to find were used, and already carried by people who apparently don't know what a paddle holster, body barrier, or CLP is

You folks have aroused absolute envy, as a Jeeper and a Shooter.
Suffice to say, long-arms only pretty much.
Love this conversation - especially to find it here.
Thanks.

I like my long arms like i like my women,

old and.

wait.

antique and

err..

Ok maybe those two things have nothing to do with each other

most of my long arms are along the lines of old mausers, enfields etc

i love old bolt actions, just takes something out of it when the rifle does your reloading for you

/me is a collector of Curios and Relics. I love the old military rifles and have a few of them. For carry, it's gotta be a 1911.

Makarov 9. Inexpensive, accurate, small and the only production pistol that can conceivably go off if dropped.
