I recently change my oil and noticed a yellowish foam where I add oil. Cleaned it out. After the change, I checked it out on the next fill up and its there again. I pulled the dip stick and the oil is fine (not milky or contamination). I use amzoil 5w-30 synthetic. Any suggestions? :?:

It's nothing to worry about, do a search, it's been discussed a couple of times.

From what I've been told it is water condensation mixed with your oil.

We have this problem with some of our T-56-7 engines on the Hercules.........The problem is that the synthetic lubricant in the oil has separated and settled on the bottom of the can. When poured and not shaken, it's still on the bottom and isn't in the oil system. After the first engine run, the filters will have a white-ish, yellow frothy film on them. This usually subsides after the 3rd or 4th run of the engines. It doesn't hurt the engine, just decreases the oil life. If you change your own oil, give em' a shake or two and see if that helps.

Hercules as in C-130. I took many a flight on them. They are workhorses!

Yep...as in the C-130 Hercules, or the Herky Bird! I myself am an engine specialist on the E, super E, spectre (AC-130H) and H models. I'm qualified to work on the whole airframe as well. These birds are definitely the backbone of the airforce.

Normal. The 4.7's actually had a recal, dont know why they did do it on the 3.7's.

Fayettenam..... Yep, I know the place well...ever cross train with a bunch of rowdy Canadian Airborne guys around 1994? Wish I had something like the GI Bill....we got fired....because of the actions of 7 (Yeah only seven) idiots in Somalia....our past Liberal government (Now Conservative THANK GOD), assumed that the ENTIRE Airborne Regiment were a bunch of loose cannons, and disbanded us.....the Liberals didn't like the idea that our platoons had the word "Commando" in their titles either.....    Needless to say we were a little upset.....anyway...theirs my rant....but it looks like we have a much better guy in charge now....Stephen Harper....and he's planning on re-surfacing our military....back up to global standard and repairing the damage our earlier government did.

Thank god the liberals never got their hands on Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) those guys are hard as nails and high speed....we did alot of training with them in the day. Not to mention they wheel like nobodys business!! We used to wheel the OD Green YJ's all the time!!
