It depends on the weather systems. some times denver will get killed because of upslope....... but most of the time the foothills only get a tab bit more. You will see way more snow when you move down south

You also need to think of the school systems for your kids. If you want the best, Cherry Creek School system is listed as the best. That would be over towards Cherry Creek Reservoir. Aurora-Greenwood Village-Centennial-Englewood-Denver area.

Really trying to stay out of the city. Plan on being in the area for about 10 years till the kids are out of the house. So I would really like to be someplace I can enjoy a bit more. Really eyeing Idaho Springs, Conifer, and Evergreen. Commute is right about an hour which I think I can handle and the scenery looks phenominal from the pics I've seen.

Is Durango too far?

Does the army pay by the mile for your commute?

Something to note regarding the weather. When we got 3ft+ down here they got 6-8ft up in Evergreen, Conifer etc. Upslope snow.

Like others said...if you can get to a main road you are fine as they plow them well. But people I work with in Golden who lived up there were stuck up there for a week.

Of course when it is 95-100F here on the few really hot summer days we get it will only be 85 in the foothills in most cases. But then again, when it is at its hottest the humidity is usually in the single digits and doesn't feel so bad.

OK, I'm very disappointed. There isn't a single Steak-N-Shake or White Castle's in the whole State! What do you people eat?

Now you know my dilema! :banghead:

My home town of 35K people has both and I love making trips back there. :JEEPIN:

Frozen white castles are not the same. We do have some awesome old fashioned diners that make great shakes, though.

If you can look in the Parker area. There are really good schools here. Tons of new high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools that are banging.
