There is a thread on the RubiconOwnersForum that is for the most part complimentary to the KJ.
Here's one of the posts:
Quote:
Did you know that in every country other than North America the liberty is still called cherokee

Yup, I just got back from my Costa Rica honeymoon where we spent 10 days driving from surf spot to surf spot and that little 'Cherokee' handled the pot-holed roads, rutted dirt roads, beach crossings, river crossings and bush driving just fine. It may not be the best rock-crawler, but it was a lot more comfortable to drive in those conditions than a Wrangler (CJ, YJ, TJ) would've been (and the wife seconds that opinion as she drove about a 1/4 of the time ).

I suppose that means I can't completely slam Libby owners, now especially when they look like http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2080764

And here's a pic posted in that same thread of a pretty hot KJ:

We have met quite a few of the Rubi folks on the trail out here and had no problems. The person I bought my 1st set of Rubi tires from was the Cali. Rubicon Owners club President and he got a kick out of my KJ when I showed up to pick up the tires. Since then we have been invited to wheel with them and the people we have met from their club have been pretty cool.

I'd be willing to bet most folks who bash the KJ are posers and don't even wheel their rigs. It's been my experience that true off-roaders respect other vehicles regardless.

So I dont know who she is on the cardomain thread, or where she's from etc. But I think I'm in love. A girl that goes off-roading, works on her own rig and posses on top of one.......wow.....do they make better women? I am still yet to get my girlfriend to model ontop of my KJ. LOL please dont take this post the wrong way if you read it. It's all in good fun and off-road respect. KJ's dont get as much respect as we would hope for but these things take time. We have to remember that it's still considered a new model. And after market parts are still in the making. In due time it will come though.

Yeah, my brother who owns a Rubi, shows my KJ love all the time.

Acutally, when I went on a ride in November, a lot of guys were impressed with the capabilities. They just don't know.

My story is pretty much like JJs. Showed up to pick up my Rubi wheels/tires and the guy was super interested in the KJ! He even joined LOST and posted a few times after that.

Guys, let’s make sure this thread stays within the bounds of good taste (so far so good). While nothing offensive has been written I can see where a thread like this could take a turn for the worse and make a young woman fairly uncomfortable. Just remember that she is one of our own and keep it respectful.

Thanks!
