As can be seen in the picture these pockets are attached to the inside of the tail gate. It's made of heavy cotton material and made to hold 8 sets of shoes. It's attached across the top with large diameter wood screws and the bottom (back) has Velcro. The pockets have liquid wrench, a serpentine belt, tensioner pulley & idler pulley, a bottle of water etc. Plenty of room for more stuff. AMERICAN made! I think I picked this up at Wally World. Amount =???, a long time ago.

The material is almost like canvas, real heavy.

I'm trying to use just the screws. That is why I used a large diameter screw. The holes already had metal grommets in them so that helps too. If they come loose I'll put some kind of backer on it and use nuts and bolts. It's really surprising how much it holds.

Each pocket is:

4.5" Wide
9.5" Top to bottom
4.0" Deep (or front to back)

Nice, I have been thinking about something for the back end but was looking more at a flat partitioned box that would take up the entire cargo floor and be about three or four inches thick - this is a definite option to that.

Terry, instead of going to regular nuts and bolts if the screws fail I would suggest adding some of those metal 'speed nuts' (flat, spring-type metal with an opening that the screw would go thru). Those would help spread the load and take a lot of the stress off of the plastic.

Something similar then, a box made out of 1x4s with partitions inside and a hinged lid, thinking of making another section that would fold down with the seats to level out the rear for sleeping out in the wilds (although that part is still in the 'do I really want to' phase). Someplace to stash jumper cables, the little red air pump and accessories, maybe some smaller spare parts and fresh fluids. Put some carpeting on the hinged top so it blends in and call it good. Oh and maybe a patented phxtoad bottle opener on the back edge for those after-trail activities
