Hi ALl, my 2006 CRD has been at the dealer for 6 months, and i am not Not exaggerating, if the vehicle is powered down for 2.5 to 3 hours the BCM goes crazy, low beams won’t come on wipers won’t turn off, every wire has been checked, now the fun part if the tech uses the star scan and resets the BCM every things works great, door locks, low beams, rear defroster. till after it has been turned off for about 2.5 hours.

I cannot afford to buy a starscan of my owne so i can reset the bcm every day or so. does anyone have any idea?

So here is the question does anyone know how to make the BCM reset without disconnection the battery, IE like how much voltage to what wire for how long? Or what fuse to pull. I want only to reset the BCM and not lose my radio stations time, and the acculiminated data in the ecu?
The dealer cannot convince Chrysler to condemn the BCM because it resets what a pain. Or does someone know of a affordable plug-in device that will allow me to reset the BCM and leave the computer information intact.

PART 2
The vehicle has had at least 5 batteries replaced, Lemon law in Alaska only covers first year, my first dealer sent a false report to Chrysler stating I had caused the problem by adding aftermarket equipment, the only items ever put on were the Chrysler remote start which never worked and I paid to have it removed and a trailer brake installed by the dealer which has been disconnected for over a year. Chrysler won’t help they just keep referring to the false report even after the new dealer has stated that there are no extra anything’s installed on the vehicle.

Low beams headlights do not work, no tail lights, but the high beams and fog lights do work, but still no tail lights. When I start the vehicle the wipers are either running or not, the cannot be turned off or on and no speed change, I have to pull the relay to stop the wipers running when they are on. Rear window defroster will either be on or off when it is started; again the button on the dash has no effect. door lock do not work except on the rear hatch, drivers door must be unlocked with the key and the other doors must be locked or unlocked by the door locking latch.
I am truly LOST.

note!! oh except when the BCM is reset, then every thing works for about 3 hours

Sorry, but your dealer is an idiot if they cannot convince Chrysler to have the part replaced after 6 months. I think you need to put your foot down and get the dealer and Chrysler to be accountable if this is under warranty.

Time to get a lawyer, certainly! This is beyond dumb, they are yanking your chain on this. After the third failure with the same problem, the ENTIRE VEHICLE should have been replaced. That is the lemon law, and they know it.

Crossed wires somewhere....

Check the area around where the remote starter was located for crossed or loose wires.

Under the dash to the left of the driver's left foot there are a bunch of ground wires screwed to the body. Have they removed them, cleaned the area around the screw then reattatched?

It sure does sound like a ground problem
