I really don't have a preference on which trail we do. I may, once again, be bringing a buddy with me but this time it will be in his stock GC so he won't be trying to roll it. (I may actually be convincing him to join the club)

I can't make it either. My work just said "no" when I asked them if I could have it off in advance :(

If anyone local (read: between Denver and C. Springs) wants to sometime go to the playgrounds I frequent, found in Larkspur, I can lead the way. Larkspur is about 10 minutes south of Castle Rock. Look in my cardomain (pages 9 and 10) for pics, all of which were taken in this area. I say only local folks because it isn't really a trail, just some unmaintained roads that people 4x4 and ATV on. If you run it straight through it's only about an hour's worth of fun, and I can imagine people from afar would prefer to not waste their time.

I was just up in the Sugarloaf / Switzerland Trail area today for a paintball game. The trails are EASILY passible. There's a couple inches of packed snow and that's it.

Where are we meeting? I figure we'd go with the standard time of 9am for the meeting time. I'm tracking only 4 people going so far:

Me
Joel
Dave
SpoonyG

Can we get anyone else to turn up? Do we really have less than 10 active members on the front range?

Ted said he may still go if he can ride with someone. He's trying to get Marty to go.

I'm planning on making this run. Where are Sugarloaf/Switzerland trails at? I am only familiar with the other two.

OK gang, what time would we be back at the springs and done?

Tricia has a thing at 5, so I would need to be home by 5:45 so I can watch the kids, unless whoever I ride with wouldn't mind two kids and me in their Jeep?

Fisheye - check www.4x4trails.net for info on the trails. Basically they are a little west of Boulder.

Ted - I don't see any reason you couldn't be back by 5:00. The trails are easy and won't take long, especially if you only decided to do one. Or we could try one of the ones David suggested since those are closer and might help you out.

We could meet at the same place we did last time in Boulder...there was a Starbucks and a King Soopers I think. As for time, that's up to you guys. Whatever works best for your schedule. I'm free all day.

Ted, I have room for ya, I need to talk some mods over with you anyways. Jen and I would have to be home around 5-ish as well so that wouldn't be an issue.

So, where are we going? I have to be back about the same time as the other Springs guys, but I might have the sitter thing about worked out. If I can get someone to watch the kids before Saturday, I might just get my junk tagged and bring that. I have a friend coming up from California who is travelling the country and hitting some wheeling spots, so He will want to go Saturday as well. Hopefully these trails have a little challenge to them, not just a dirt road. His XJ is built much like mine is going to be, with full width axles and 36" Irocs, so I don't know any of these trails, but if any of them have several alternate routes with varying difficulty, that would be awesome.

I think a trail down Castle Rock-Co Springs area would be best.

What trails are there? I have been looking at 4x4trails.net and can't find anything yet in this area. Anything challenging or exciting?

From the description, I think it is a trial Pete and I tried... There is a section that is not passable for the libs as they are currently configured... I think it is doable, and Pete thought I was nuts for wanting to try it after watching a YJ, but in reality, it has one corner about a mile and a half or 2 miles maybe that has a turn with a drop off on one side and a huge cut out ditch on the wall side. the YJ I watched had trouble turning and staying upright and did hit the wall with his roll bar. I think we would all (even you) drag our roofs on the wall unless we tried to put the inside of the passenger side tire on the ledge, and that is flirting with danger too. You may have the lift and tires to try, the libs I do not think do.

There are a lot of unlisted trails off of old stage road that I have been on with Pete and taken Joe (KS2002KJ) on last year.

If we do something off old stage where would we all meet?

Or has the group decided on another trail?

I will only be serving as picture bi__h/spotter so I will not vote.

I am happy just to get on the trails again, I need a break. Wish I had not sold my hitch or hooks so soon!!! Oh well, got to pay for bumpers... Would that count as utilitarian ethics... sacrificing my recovery points for the greater good of the KJ community?? DOH!!! Dang Ethics in Management course!!!
