I've been thinking about a exo roll cage as well. Not sure how to secure it with a stock bumper. I'm going to be going with a Detours Backbone and not a ARB bumper. :JEEPIN:

Be real hard to build a full exo cage with out attaching to a real full width steel bumper

From what i see i believe that a full exo cage is very difficult to be done to a kj.
I think the problem is with the rear side and especially with the rear fenders.
You don't have space to work on.
I mean what's the meaning to make a cage like this if your side protection is almost zero.

add heavy tube tail light guards similar to whats on my TR rear bumper and fork from the tail light guards

you're right, it gives some very odd bends in the tube to do an exo to the rear bumper without some sort of side protrusion

similar tube builds would make an exo much easier than with a non-guarded rear bumper
