I'm thinking of capping off the egr cooler return line, in order to reduce my coolant temps.

Is this a bad idea?

Does anyone know the coolant flow of this engine?

If coolant flows for instance, from the head to the egr cooler, this could be undesirable, if it were the only flow path for all or a few cylinders.

Also can someone post a picture of the front air dam of a stock crd?

Mine has been trimmed.

Basically i want to do everything i can to reduce coolant temps and i will stop at nothing.
Thinking of replacing the radiator and adding some rows to it.

Since you plated off your EGR, there is no EGR flow hence no heat and no need for the EGR cooler. But since no heat from the exhaust is going to the EGR cooler, bypassing will do nothing as far as cooling system efficiency goes.
I have read that you have done many of the other common fixes for hot running, adding more tubes to the radiator core will enhance the cooling. Also make sure all of the flaps and plates that direct air into the radiator and out of the engine compartment are in place. I have had some other cars that over heated because a piece of plastic was missing.
Our front skid plate with the plastic insert acts like a discharge chute, make sure you have it in place.
For others with SEGR and using ORM, same thing applies for the EGR cooler.

I would like to know myself(as far as cooling goes) not really going to attack the egr block off.
anything i can do to the radiator? anyone know of a biger one that will fit ok?

I have the skid plate off of a gasser, as it is thicker.

Please try the FFF mod first. It tripples your cooling w/o any added problems. It is by far the cheapest, most effective way to increase cooling. I even run a 192* thermostat with it instead of the 176* stock one. I maintain 190.5* with it in traffic idiling in 100* weather or cruising 65mph on the highway. If you are having cooling issues this will help.
