Went to grab some food the other day...while i was waiting at the drive through, i shut down the crd. after getting the food, started it up and put in in drive, immediately stalled. put it in park and started right back up.

1. drove a couple hundred miles that day. some offroading...
2. The Torque converter and flash were replaced around 25k miles - 81k total miles now. (according to service records).
3. had a wix fuel filter put on at 78k by dealer (former dealer)

There are a couple of different 'stalls'
and the first question is does it repeat or is it one time only?

the 'put in in drive, immediately stalled' - did it feel like the TC didn't disengage and the transmission killed the engine? - because that's a tranny line pressure - due to the drain back valve leaking - changing filters will help/fix - as will idling for 30 sec in Neutral.

however other engine stalls tend to be either Air -in fuel, or clogged fuel filter

air-in fuel - immediately check the pump at the fuel head and see if it's soft (you can bleed air out of it) and also pull the heater pull to see if it's leaking fuel out - air leaks in easier than fuel comes out - if so - you should probably get a new style fuel head ~ $100 from Mopar Parts America - a lift pump will help - but personally I like fixing the fuel head and then adding the lift pump as a safety factor.

clogged fuel filter - yours is fairly new - but this is a function of where you get fuel - a good station that pumps a lot of volume - you can probably got 20-30K miles on a filter - a bad station than doesn't pump much diesel - gets a lot of moisture condensing in there and algae growth - one tank can kill the filter.

(oh yeah - just as a check - make sure the filter is tight - 2-3 folks have had new filters that were loose - pulls in air)

(Any Mod's around - might get more views in the main CRD section instead of Tech)
