Rokee's heart gave out last Friday

She is receiving a new one Thursday, re-manufactured from O'Reily's to the tune of $1500.00 the old one had just shy of 172k on it.

no warning of the failure, just started it Friday morning and the death rattle was present.

did not burn oil, or leak oil, and besides the noise, the engine ran smooth, my bro 1996XJ pulled the pan and found 4 pieces of the #2 piston inside the oil pan. SHEESH

I’m surprised that you didn’t go with the Mopar 4.7 stroker

Those 4.7's just don't work well or last, seems the average is about 5000miles before they break.

The real world test of the 4.7L that I read show fairly marginal increases for the $$$ spent. That, and premium fuel!

you can get any inline-6 stroker motor to run right. A lot of people have well over 90k on there strokers and they are doing fine. You just gotta be careful that its built right. The mopar strokers i have not heard anything about yet.

Yes she will, if the rest of her wasn't in such good shape I would not have spent the money on a new motor.

I am glad after talking with Scott that I decided on a new motor instead of a junkyard motor, junkyard motors are time bombs. If Rokee was strictly a trail rig then that would have been the avenue I would have taken, but for the immediate future, she will be my everyday transportation.
