Threadwright PSI

Got a questions guys. Got my threadwrights mounted today, they are 245/75/16 warden on BFG AT casing. The website says 80PSI/max, and the shop put 40PSI in them. The felt a little stranges so I put 60PSI them which made them a little better. What PSI are you running in them?

60s way too much
more about 35-40 depending on what you haul
or do a chalk test and see

I ran about 35-ish in mine when I had them. That gave them a great ride and even wear pattern.

Thanks. After getting the PSI and alignment done its still vibrates and handles way diffrent then it has been. It more or less jerks to the left or right a little, it also vibrates at speed. When I let off the gas there is a slight "rawr" and vibrates as the speeds get lower. is it possible they didn't balance them right?

I would have them rebalanced, they should be roaring, growling, howling but not vibrating

if it's jerking to the left or right, it's possible the alignment wasn't done correctly and it's pigeon toed and following cracks in the pavement

Both started yesterday when the tires were put on. No they are just AT tread not mud. Im thinking they didn't balance them correctly. They are mounted blackwall out, that should make a diffrence correct

I second that on rebalance. Make sure they balance the old fashioned way with weights on both the outer and inner rim lip. I had balance problems on one of my BFG's when they tried to use sticky weights, or just weight on the inner rim lip.

when i had my alignment done they had a hard time because the guy said my " power steering rack is floating for some reason, its in good shape but takes a few seconds for a turn of the wrench to register correctly" .. once he slowed down and allowed the machien to catch up with the vehicle it came out perfect..

See if you cant find somebody that can "sand bag" them for weights! I know a guy that ran 315/xx/xx weighted with sand bags and you couldnt ask for a better bal. tire!!

i run mine at 40 and they do great look for your self at the tire and if all of the tread is on the grond and there is no arc then you should be good

If by sandbagging, you mean DynaBeads http://www.innovativebalancing.com/ then I am not sure that would help. Those are most effective on 33x12.50 and larger tires. If you do go that route, use the actual beads. Don't try the poor-man's solution like I did. Read my results here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=37077
