Im going to test drive this Liberty CRD tomorrow. It's an 2006 Sport with 54000 miles what seems to be a clean history. 2 Owners.
They have it priced at $14,998. Any advice on what I might try to get them down to?
Thanks in advance. Autotrader link below.

It isn't worth over $12.5K.

x2. I might go 13k, but it depends on the real condition of the interior... those cloth seats have a tendency to stain and dealerships are very good at hiding the blemishes in photographs.

Can't speak to Mt Home and S Idaho but CRD's come at a premium From W Montana to the coast and down through Oregon. I think this price is a little high but that is a starting point and it will always be worth $2K>$3K more than a similar gasser so I would let that be you guide.

Less that a year ago I paid close to 17,000 for an 06 Limited with just under 38k. Mine is very loaded up with Nav leather and nearly every thing but intigrated sirius and Uconnect. That price is a bit high for a sport but it looks very good in the pics. I like the KK wheels too. Thier price is a good starting point for them for you.... offer 12 to 12.5 and see what they say. try to get it for 13.5 or about that.

a local lot to me has an 06 gasser sport with 50, a bull bar and some chrome goodies in dark khaki that looks outstanding but not anywhere near as equipped as mine and that window sticker is $16,900. I doubt they will get close to that unless some fool is blinded by all that chrome that don't get you home.

Already mentioned, it has nice wheels and newer tires. I would have a mechanic look this one over pretty. Here are a few observations from looking at the pictures.

One shot shows some pretty good gouges on the fenders and the LR Fender has a blemish. These things would make me want the front end bushings, alignment, etc. to be checked.

The radio is obviously not stock.

It looks like it has the stock trailer tow package. '06 models do not have Trac-Loc so I would make sure it has ESC and Rollover which I believes uses the brakes to send power to the non-spinning wheels.

Lastly, crawl under it and pop the hood and even make a few inspections of failed parts (or failing) that are mentioned throughout the site. All of these things compiled could make this an expensive purchase.

If the price is right 11-12.5k, I think it would be worth it if all of these issues are checked into and verified to be OK.

You need to know that INSTANTLY, a dealer will come down 10%, and they will continue to go down. They need to sell cars. You may need to walk away a few times. Play the game. I have even negotiated with Walmart to get 10% off a camera.

Well, the test drive was pretty underwhelming. First the vehicle is pretty beat up inside and out. Nothing really major but a lot of scratches in the sheet metal, plastic fenders and bumper. The back bumper is even discolored a little like it has faded in the sun or something like that.
The worst part was the shifter was sort of mushy. There was no obviously feeling of transition when I moved it from neutral to drive. A few times I'd but it in what Should have been drive but it was still neutral. When I'd go down to 3rd or 2nd the shifting felt normal, from slot to slot.
The car seems loud to and just like it had been beaten up by the previous owners. So even if the shifting issue was fixed and they adjusted the price I'm not sure I'd want it.
Disappointed cause it did look nice.

Does anyone know if any of the sport model liberties come with the power seats?

I sat in a limited today and it was a lot more comfortable for me with the power seat that can be tilt adjusted etc...

Don't recall if it was an available option. I will say that the Liberty has a small seat and for an old guy like me having the adjustable seat is a real life saver. I am adjusting my all the time on a trip. Not sure that I would buy anything but a daily commuter that didn't have one now.

Sport came with cloth seats, unpowered :( . The limited comes with the leather, powered, seats. A couple of years ago someone took powered seats out of a limited and plugged them into the sport (do a search of the threads) and I think they even showed that the wiring is already there but I forget and I have never gotten the search engine on this site to work for me....otherwise I would have linked the thread.

Sorry to highjack...

but to search lostjeeps or any web site you can use google:

I.E. to search for leather seats you would type in (without the " " )

"leather seats site:lostjeeps.com" into google search and it works faster and better than most search engines from sites.

That is how I found this place :google:
