Trans Temp light came on again tonight. Actually took it to the dealer today because was feeling shudder. Had them do a trans service, replace filters, etc. They only found some metal shavings...

Problem is, no codes and not sure what to do at this point. could it be a bad sensor? anyone had this problem in the past?

f37 with new torque converter done at 26k...

current tc was shuddering, then stopped shuttering/started driving odd, then into limp mode.

More info is needed like were you stuck in heavy traffic with the AC running in 100 degree heat or maybe towing a trailer?

Personally my transmission temp light has only come on once while towing in 100 degree heat with AC runnng going up a hill. And yes I ocasionally get some shudder but they're putting in a euro tc now

well, it's in at the trans shop now. no warranty left...on it.

sounds like i definately have the converter problem. just ordered the suncoast and shift kit.

They haven't looked at the trans temp yet...but i was only driving 70 (i belive the converter unlocked b/c the shudder magically stopped) and got off the highway, and went into limp mode...then speed up again and the light came on.

FYI: the Suncoast as of current are sending out the torque converters with the new springs.

also, I talked to one of the suncoast Techs...he let me know, the shift kit fixes one of the main problems- the trans fluid that isn't able to circulate - which causes the problem of the torque converter slipping.

On the Transgo kit, make sure the shop puts in the valve kit into your pump too. Also make sure the shop puts the RED LOCTITE on the four bolts that attache the Torque Converter to the Flex Plate. Forget the resistor, waste of time.
