I have a set of these up on the cowl and they do pretty well. 100W https://www.bajadesigns.com/NET/P-613285/Fuego%2c+Halogen+Spot+Black+100w
And a set of these on the bumper 55W http://www.adv4x4.com/hera40coblla.html

I ended up getting 2 hella wiring harnesses and hooking them up.

I like the lights up by the cowl. I was wondering how you attached them there.

others have done it, and they just drilled a whole and mounted it to the plastic wiper cowl. if you go through with it, make sure your clear of the wiper linkage and any other vitals.

Also just to add.. that in CA the legal max height is 54" or they have to be covered so its good to check local laws.

Thank you, I thought I saw a link at one time for it. May give it a try.

SilverStars are great bulbs, but nothing compare to SilverStar Ultras, the best bulb I've seen yet, no joke! I'm doing a 9005 conversion on my fogs so I can run ssu there as well. I'm thinking of getting a pair of hella 500s as well, mounted on the bumper though. Eventually I want to get some 100w bulbs up on the roof, for dirt roads and night wheeling :)

Like said before just drill the plastic on the cowl and mount. Just be mindful of the wipers and other stuff. I also put 2 strips of velcro on the bottom of the lights so they don't bounce around as much. As far as covers the only ones i could find for the Solteks were clear covers, and for the 6 months i was in Ca with the lights up there no one ever said anything to me.

i got my hellas for 50 with the wiring kit, relay and dash switch and i couldnt be happier.

mounting them to the plastic on the bumper can be ttricky to do a solid mount, but i made two brackets that are very sturdy and they only use 3-4 holes each from the wood screws
