After 67,000 miles I changed my very oily CAC hoses.

Pat at BoostControllers was very helpful.

In the change out I didn't have the new hose clamp closest to the turbo tight enough and got a little whistle. After snugging it up all was well.

I cleaned the MAP sensor for the first time too

I have read about the mess inside the hoses for 5 years a just shrugged it off. It does make you think about the cooler and the condition its in.

Do big road tractors have the oily blow by problems too?

Thanks

Tom

I removed intercooler to change out to a new one as mine had a leak awhile back. I only found about a tablespoon of oil at the bottom I drained out. There was no sooty buildup in the intercooler, just thin oily residue. My MAP sensor was caked with thick buildup of soot/oil/gunk, but none of that in intercooler so I am betting yours in fine too. :)

Also, do you mean the map sensor? Heres pics of mine when I removed it at 89K miles:

Mark,

Thanks for proofing my thread. Yes, I meant the MAP.

My sensor looked just like yours. I cleaned it with brake cleaner and popped it back in.

Thanks,

Tom

No. They all came with a Pro-vent like device when the switch was mandated. Nothing comes out of the blow by tube anymore but water. Seperated oil is channeled back to the oil pan.
