You and Tom taking each other's lifts off ten times a month to switch stuff up isn't the same...

So, are your and Tom's lift's 100% Factory franky...no tweaking...no changes...no other lift/suspension "mods" except maybe JBA arms...?

We both have Gasser frankenlift with 790 springs.... maybe few conduits...or Maybe top plate spacer.....and most don't know there are different size forks... but I can't give away all the secrets..... you have to work on multiple kjs all different years..and you will find the secrets.... you know.....when someone says that can't be done...take apart the suspension just to add a fraction of an inch....just to prove it can be done..... yeah that's Mudd and I

Any chance you can post the pics, I am sure that would aid people in helping you out.

I have a pieced together OME lift (pretty much same as a Franky), never had any issues.

I have to agree here. I am kinda like TJKJ02, 03CDKJ and tommudd. I have pulled mine apart more times than I can count. The more you look at it, try different things, and understand what works and doesn't, the better off you are, and the more you understand and can give true feedback/advice to other forum users.

They almost always recommend to use Rancho Shox, OME Springs - not a Frankie. Then add a top plate, conduit nuts, and maybe a KK clevis fork to maximize height. But many people would rather have a pre-assembled package. That is what the Frankie is good for. In any market, people pay extra for ease of use. But you can get the same height in this case if you are willing to do some work yourself.

As far as the Frankie not fitting, that varies from one vehicle to the next just as TJ said. Heck, I could barely get mine back together with just a Daystar spacer lift the first time I did it. Then after a few more times of pulling everything apart and back together, I learned some of the tricks that worked on mine, and it was so much easier. Then I built my own "Frankie"-like setup. And now I am sitting as tall or taller than anyone else on here (excluding SFA) and I did not spend $1000-$1350 to do it. Would it have been easier to just buy a Frankie and Al's UCAs? Sure. But I enjoy trying things on my own.

And sure sometimes these guys that have been on here forever, and have done a ton of lifts, may sound a little blunt, arrogant, short tempered, etc... But that is just their personality, and most times it is because they are repeating the same answers to the same questions that have been posted literally hundreds of times. Just get a little thicker skin and recognize the sarcasm in their posts. They usually have good advice. And they will try to steer others in the best direction depending on that person's ability, and budget. There IS a search feature. Don't forget that too.

OK. I'll step down off my soap box now.

I got in the Frankenlift 2 Deluxe last weekend. Along with the lift went in new upper A-arms from Jeepin by Al, new lower ball joints (Moog), extended stainless braided brake lines and new polyurethane sway bar bushings. All other parts were pulled apart, cleaned and refurbished or rebuilt. Since the lift was completed it has been alligned and I had the tires re-ballanced. Ran great and smooth with ONE exception,,,,

While making turns (such as on the street, into my driveway, etc), the sway bar is hitting the lower A-arms. There are already flat spots developing on the arms and bar where they keep hammering away at each other. I have double checked and the sway bar was reinstalled correctly.

I spoke to a tech at All J and emailed him some photos, but he hasnt heard of this before and is looking for a solution. Suggested maybe some sort of fabbed up sway bar links (for "The Best Suspension Available I shouldnt have to fab anything to get it to work). He was supposed to do some checking and call me this morning but I never heard from them.

I chose this lift based on advice from those who have installed them and admired the companies customer service,,,bad bet it looks like.

Do you guys have any ideas?
Im starting to get kinda pi$$ed that I spent 1600$ and 3 days getting this suspension in/rebuilt.

Check your email.........BTW the late reply was me waiting to have another KJ in the shop to look at. I sent you a reply this morning. I will be in tommorrow if you want to talk some more.

The reason I know is because while I do all the wrenching, Tom is taking the parts I remove and comparing them to the "MUDD stockpile" of KJ parts....
He then holds me up even further  by showing me that the parts are different.... "hey look at this"
I then say "Well give me one of them" and continue wrenching....
That's why I paint all my stuff red :!: ... So he can't pull the ole switch a roo! Always trying to one up me......

Interesting. And are their part number differences between them or is it just luck of the draw, and you have to know which year is which length?

The part #'s for the clevis's are the same from '02-'07,they change for '08 on the KK's.

Typical for P/N to stay the same in auto industry, but the Revision (A, B, C, etc) will change. Technically, they are interchangeable, but there are small differences between them. Changing length could easily change between Revisions. In fact, not knowing any details, it could be very possible that the Pre-Lowered KJs had Rev A clevis fork. Mid '03, they change to Rev B for the lowered KJ. Easier to change than the spring/shock assembly.

Hmmmmm.

But the KK and KA have a longer Clevis....

The coil spring was changed for pre-lowered and lowered KJ.The only revision change for the clevis was in '06 they started using a different upper bolt then older versions.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight. Did they increase, or decrease the upper bolt size on the Revision? Because, my '07 sure seems to have a wimpy sized bolt.

Our Frankenlift has been on the KJ for 11¾ months.
Our Rig not only is a daily driver but also gets wheeled on a regular basis.
Along with additional modifications, it has 3.75 inches of lift.(Now that the coil springs have settled.)
I ran it with 4 inches of lift without the winch/winch mount and light bar and additional lighting for three months.
The sway bar has NEVER made contact with the lower control arms during those three
months.
And to this day we do not have any problems with the Frankenlift what so ever.
I'll also add that I always receive excellent customer service from All J Products.
