The 'problem' here in Colorado is that so many people own Jeeps, and 4x4's in general, that the % of us who truly do offroad is very small in comparison to the numbers of 4x4 vehicles. The only two times I have ever received a wave in return was when the other person was obviously an offroader and had some sort of modded Jeep.

Ok folks, I have to say that I am FLOORED with my experience the other day. On the way to the store, I waved at a couple of wranglers that did not wave back....not surprising from what I hear. BUT, I also waved at three Libbys and they did not wave back either!! Ok, I know they saw me...I was a wavin' like mad!! lol. In addition to that all three of the libbys had Disabled plaquards in the mirror, not that there is anything wrong with that, my dad is disabled. But it give a person pause to see that there is little chance that Libby is going to make it offroad. What really got to me though is that I live in a small town where people are SUPPOSED to be friendly and nobody waved back! So much for small town hospitality! I am going to have a sticker made up that says....I AM WAVING AT YOUR JEEP!! What do ya all think? Will it work?

Try the ole "finger wave" instead. You more then likely WILL get a response.

What's Your Score?

I calculated a stock Rubicon at 153 (from what I can tell).

At the end of this month, my LJ's mods will take me to 262.

There are people that count what has been done to there jeep to make them feel better or to brag about what has been done to there jeep
I dont know how you calculate a stock jeep or what each mod means .
In a club here they dont care what you drive just want it to be safe and make shure you get back. Maybe some one can explane the scoring better
any way that guy did not see the liberty as a Jeep because it did not have straigh axels. That why some dont wave.

I run into the same problem here in VA Beach that Kugellager was talking about in CO. There are SO MANY Jeeps here. I am seriously thinking about mounting a camera in my truck just so I can snap a pict of every Jeep I see in any given day. It's insane! I counted 23 during one 20 mile commute home from work one day.

Most of them have never even been out on the beach.

I still look, smile and wave at them (shrug). Considering some of the looks I get  :? :x when I wave, I'm probably going to get arrested one of these days. But the more people that DON'T wave back at me...the more I WANT to wave. It's like that feeling you get when the remote won't work. Before you know it you're standing two inches away from the channel> button on the TV, but you're still trying to get the channel> button on the remote to work. At this point, it's entirely principal. Pretty soon, I'll be standing in front of the Jeep dealership waving at people who are buying Jeeps. You can't leave the lot until you learn that Jeep owners are supposed to wave at each other. Wave at me or get back in the station wagon you just traded in.

Okay, I beat my old record. Yesterday after work...drove 12 miles...30 Jeeps. THIRTY! Saw at least one of every model except the Commander. And I decided not to count the 9 Jeeps on the car...sorry...JeepCarrier that was heading the other way on the interstate.

Not a single wave. :(

Bike riders are great at waving. But bikes have their wave groups and point systems too. Harleys, rice-cruisers, pocket-rockets, etc. A lot of people in each group won't wave at anyone in any other group. But when I used to have my dual-purpose bike almost everyone waved at me (and I waved at everyone). Street-legal bikes that have skid plates are just cool. The only group that pretty consistently DIDN'T wave at me was the big interstate cruiser bikes. Those mean cruisers with their 8-speaker radios, ACs and ashtrays.
