Leg room is certainly the KJ's biggest weakness.

I have found that on my Limited with power seats...the seat will go back a little farther and can be slightly more comfortable than my previous Sport model. The Sport would KILL me on a long trip.

I'm about 6'2" and the KJ is a PITA to drive long distances. Apparently you guys never have owned a full size truck before.

Not only is there not enough leg room length-wise...but width-wise my left knee rests against the door, and my right knee is bent because the **** transmission tunnel takes away any flat area to rest my foot.

The pathetic leg room, combined with the VERY thin steering wheel clearly indicates that Jeep was targeting female drivers when they designed the KJ. For that reason, I purposefully got leather power seats this time around...which helps. And I bought a steering wheel cover to "fatten" up the wheel and make it comfortable to hold onto.

I grew up driving a Lincoln Town Car. No the KJ is not spacious, but does one really need the same seating position as a couch?

I am 6'6", 260. Not a small guy. I have no problems with seat position in my 07 KJ. I think I heard somewhere that manual seats (which I have) slide back farther than electric. And there is also a difference in the seats between the years. Passenger side is a pain for me too because of that stupid grab handle.

Same here. I actually keep my seat forward quite a bit but I like for my legs to touch the dash. Gotta hold myself in the seat in those tight turns. :JEEPIN:

Wow. you'd think you would notice such major deficiencies in comfort and/or the fact the you were buying a compact SUV, not a full sized truck, before you bought a KJ ....twice

Not a big guy, 5'9, but compared to the cars I used to drive (mostly mazda and pontiac) this thing gives me a fair bit more room. Kinda sad since I'm probably selling her in the next year for a smaller car :(

I guess it's time to sell the KJ if it doesn't fit and is pathetic. Not sure why purchased in the first place.

The leg room is similar to both the Cherokees and Grands going back a long ways. The trans tunnel has always stolen a little room. I don't think they made it smaller with a small driver in mind. I think it has always been because they were trying to keep the wheelbase as short as they could.

at 6'7 i dont find it and issue, I could use the extra leg room but not at the expense of rear leg room.
