So when I bought the CRD, I did the ORM from the previous owners home to mine, and left it off untill I got the GDE Tune. The CEL was on of course. Now, I bought a HF scan tool (50 bucks, works great) and pulled the p0069. I cleaned the MAP (it was really bad, soot clogged) with electrical cleaner I bought from NAPA. After GDE post about being carefull when cleaning it, I didn't want to use carb cleaner or anything too strong. I also did not use a brush.

I still get the p0069 a couple minutes after clearning it. The CEL comes on when driving normally, not just at idle. I don't notice any powerloss, but since I have owned it for a month having this same problem, I don't really have a basis on 'correct' power levels to compare it to.

I also checked the MAF and air inlet pressure sensors on the air box, they are connected correctly.

Because I am not going into limp mode, or getting any huge powerloss, I don't really NEED to replace any sensors. But just knowing that something is continually causing the CEL to come on bugs me. I was thinking of getting a new MAP based on other posts on here saying a new sensor fixed the p0069.

Any other suggestions to replace first?

If everything is plugged in correctly, I would replace the MAP.

Yep, sounds like the best idea. I am ordering the part from moparpartsamerica today (and $25 more for a trans. skid!)

I'll post when I get it, and if it helps.

I have the same issue after the GDE tune. I replaced my MAP sensor and still get the P0069 CEL so I think it something with the tune myself.

The P0069 code is a correlation fault between the MAP sensor (in the intake manifold by the fuel rail) and the inlet air pressure sensor mounted on the side of the airbox.

The problem you're having is related to the sensor on the airbox: either the wiring is pulled too tight and a wire is broken, or the sensor is bad and should be replaced.

It isn't an issue of the tune.

so if it is a correlation, couldn't it be either/or sensor? How do you know for sure it's the airbox one?

-I have yet to go into limp mode
-I do get poor MPG
-Original MAP sensor, never cleaned for 66k
-Wiring looks okay for all sensors
-CEL comes on 5 minutes after clearing it, and stays on until cleared

Well, moparpartsamerica is on order, not for two more weeks. I went ahead and got the air box Mercedes sensor from the local stealership on order. It was about the same price without the delay.

I'll replace the airbox one first and see if that helps

The airbox sensor will not help with the P0069 error code as it is not part of the plausibility calculation. The MAP value is compared to the altitude pressure sensor inside the ECU. During idle conditions if the MAP reads above/below a difference threshold compared to the altitude sensor it will flag the P0069 code.

With the latest GDE tune the airbox pressure sensor is turned off.

So which one is correct? I already replaced the MAP sensor and still get the P0069 from time to time...........

I got my GDE tune last month, so I assume that is the latest tune, what about you Dave?

GDE- How do you know for sure what tune you have and if it is working properly?

I got mine in the last week of March.

Any tune after March 8th, 2010 has the airbox sensor disabled. Both of you guys have the latest release.

Oh, so both the MAF and the side one are disabled?

So even without ever going into limp mode the p0069 is likely from a mad MAP sensor?

I replaced my MAP sensor and still get the code. I don't get it all the time, and it will usually clear after a few start cycles if I don't clear it first with my scangauge. I do not notice any drivability issues, and wouldn't know it was on except for the CEL.

So I just cleared my CEL, and unplugged the side sensor. I am assuming that if the same code comes up, it's the MAP. Since the sensor is unplugged AND bypassed with the tune, if a separate CEL code comes up with it unplugged then something else is going on.

So the MAP sensor is still on order from moparpartsamerica, and now also from moparonlineparts.com. It went into limp mode today, at least I think so. After letting it sit with the engine off, I started it again and drove home fine. Scared the wife! So Monday I am going to see if I can get it from the dealer, worth paying extra to drive better.

Oh, I unplugged the MB air box sensor and it did not throw any new codes, so the GDE tune DID dissable it, which hopefully means a new MAP sensor is all it will take.

Well, I hope it works for you! I replaced mine and still get the P0069 code from time to time, yesterday in fact..... I have already replaced my MAP sensor and it still does it. I never get a limp mode and I might go a week or two before it will come on, or it might do it several days in a row. Post back after you've had it in for a while, I'd like to know if it fixed yours.

Ok, so I installed it, drove on smoe errands, then to work, still no CEL. Looks like it worked. I'll let you know if it does come on once in a while like yours dritchie.

So to sum up this thread, a CEL that throws only a p0069 code was 100% for sure fixed by a new MAP sensor, NOT the airbox MB sensor.

Thanks for everyone's help!
