Tried searching...but didn't get a single result. No surprise there.

Who runs 265/70-16 here? How much lift do you have and how much trimming did you have to do to make it work with stock wheels?

Stock wheels it is going to be tight and most likely rub the sway bar. I ran a set of BFGs for a while on 8 inch wide Moabs, ARB bumper and 4 inches of lift and of course with no problems

I'm running some. On the Jeep when i bought it, on stock wheels, and what appears to be a ~2-2.5" spacer lift. They rub on the unibody at full steering lock. No trimming done that I can see.

I'm shopping for a new set of tires in this exact size for my '05 Renegade. Plan to put them on the stock 7"X16" rims, I have a 2.5" Daystar lift, and 1.5" wheel spacers, plus I cut & trimmed my front bumper, and pounded the pinch welds already.

Still getting prices together on General Grabber AT2's, Cooper S/T, Mastercraft C/T-c, and Mastercraft MT's....so far the best prices I've gotten here in South Jersey is on the General Grabber AT2's at $180.00 per tire mounted and balanced, everything else is running well over $200.00 a tire....

i'm putting this size on (265/70) in two weeks, going with Firestone Destination A/T's with a quote of about 180.00 a piece, mounted, balanced and with a road hazard!

At $180 each, you're paying about $160 for the tire itself. I can buy the Generals or Firestones either one all day long online for $100-$110 per tire. Even with shipping, then taking them to get mounted and balanced I'm still looking at $30 per tire less than what you guys are being quoted. That's $120 on a set, and $120 buys some nice stuff for a KJ. :) BUT... I realize that some folks just like shopping locally even if it costs a lot more.

BTW.. the 265s look real nice. Thanks for the pix everybody.

yeah i wanted to go local for service reasons, the breakdown was $138 for the tire, plus $15 for the M & B, $19 for the road hazard then tax... close to $750 but i'm REAL pleased with them.

It depends on where you live more than anything else. I talk to folks who live in Ohio that pay even less than you on better tires. I could pay far less by purchasing the tires from Tirerack.com, but by the time I pay the shipping, mounting and balancing, sales tax, NJ tire excise tax, and tire disposal fee, I'm right back up to where I was just buying them direct from the tire shop....

It has more to do with the cost of living in New Jersey than not willing to shop online.....

Here is mine with CRD Premium Franky:

Here is a link to pictures when I first got them (Nitto Terra Grapplers 265/70-16), scroll down toward the bottom of the page:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=55453

I already had mine trimmed a bit for 235/85. I get a bit of rub on full lock and just noticed when the tires are turned just right they barely touch the tip of my JBA A-Arms. I'm looking into a small spacer to solve this problem... but maybe I'm the only one with this issue? It isn't enough to damage the tire or Arm and doesn't touch all the time, only at a certain angle of turn.

I'm thinking about getting a set of 265/70 R16 on moabs that I just picked up. About to install a frankenlift. Any issues there? I also will be getting JBA 4.5 UCAs on Monday. Any issues with putting the spare on the back? It's either Cooper Discoverer STT 265/70 R16 or Goodyear Duratrac 245/75 R16... I just don't think I want to deal with the 265/75 Duratrac fitting, power/mpg loss.

I'm running a completely stock 07 sport gasser with AT 3.7 v6. The lift would definitely go on first, then mount up some new rubber right after.

How much lift do you have in those pics? Also, do you think that you didn't have any problems may have been help due to having the ARB bumper?

That was my old lift so it was lower than now, so maybe 3.50-3.75 in those pics
Yes the ARB helps in the foglight area of the 02-04s

See, those 265s look HUGE. The other pics of 265s didn't look as huge. All tires run different I guess. I'm fairly certain from experience that Firestones run a tad small. Tires are sort of like shoes I guess...it just depends on which brand you get.

So after reviewing a bunch of 265 threads, here's what I gather:

On stock wheels the 265/70s might rub the upper ball joint/control arm area. Otherwise only very minor trimming will be necessary. Does that sound about right?
