It's too early for pricing, I would hazard a guess but I could be way off as I am not involved in that part in any way. The idea is to have a really nice one for looks and naturally more $$$, and to have an inexpensive model. The company is just taking my idea's and bringing them to life as a product for their automotive company to sell. Once this gets rolling I have some other ideas including intake improvements that I'm going to try and see if I can interest them in making.

The really good news is both models will fit under the engine cover.

You VW TDI guys may know of my CCV filter I got built for the TDI's that worked so well. I still have people PM'img or emailing me wanting to know how they can get one.

There was speculation on some other forum that some oil was necessary in the system to keep the turbo lubricated from the inside out. I don't buy into that theory...

I want one too, if installation doesn't take reworking half my engine. Which was the problem I had with the ProVent

So mark me as an interested party for a cleanly installing CCV filter.

Hey I have spoken to them about it, and who knows maybe.

I will say this, it will be much easier to install and far better looking then the provent filter.

Yep, heard the same thing, that the oil is necessary to lubricate the variable geometry vanes in the turbo. I had to explain to them that the variable vanes are in the EXHAUST side of the turbo! Someone else on the same forum we're referring to said that all the oil in the intake system was leaking past the seals on the turbo bearings and they were designed to leak like that!

Back in the day, we used to say that the Navy kept trying to make their ships foolproof, but they always managed to find bigger fools! :roll:

On the same forum I mentioned before, they now have the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" line of reasoning. They contend that if that's the way VM and DC designed the engine, to suck all that oil thru the intake, then by God that's the way it's supposed to work and that's how THEIR vehicle is going to work, and how dare you second-guess all those college-educated engineers, all diesels are supposed to work this way! :roll:

At the same time you've got other posts by people wondering why they're using a quart of oil every 3000 miles without any obvious oil leaks. :roll:

It will be like the Fumoto oil drain valve deal with Greg, just my selling him on an idea and then Greg gets product made and sells it to us. Speaking of I will be glad to see the FUMOTO show up here at the house maybe in a couple of weeks.

I had an OldNavy CCV filter on my Jetta TDI and it was nice! Just remove the stock CCV replace it with the OldNavy unit and your ready to go. A 5 minute job at the most. The top of the unit screwed off so that you could replace the filter every 5,000-10,000 miles.

I'll be getting one of these for my CRD when they are available. Thanks OldNavy...keep them ideas coming! :wink:

sign me up for one as well. I have been putting the provent off and have racked up 15,000 miles already. I hate to see what my intercooler looks like :shock:

Yes, I said lubricate the vanes to try to get someone new and knowledgeable to help the ones who read and think and I think it worked, you came and tried-thank you. I think some questioning minds are at work there. I read your post ain't fixed and quart of oil several times and unfortunately had to chuckle outloud even though I was a big Beavis a year ago at the purchase and hopefully not so much a Beavis anymore. First jeep, first turbo, first diesel.

Can I buy an oldnavy ccv.

I am glad you two have enjoyed it so much.

I have had it on my computer for some time, but can't remember if it was something I came up with or something someone might have sent me as a joke.

I have had people PM me to tell me yes. On the Magnum forum one of the lady members commented to me she got a real blast from reading it and that the answer will always be yes.

I'm looking forward to it as well, I remember how well the one for the VW diesel worked. I still get 2 or 3 PM's or emails asking if those are still available.
