All my buddys give me crap about having a girly jeep. We are constantly trying to get each others goat somehow. It's gotten so bad that even their 9 yr old daughter calls it a "girly jeep." I think it's funny cause we'll be wheeling and they will come over the CB with "hey you might wanna take the left it's a little smoother, which usually is about the time I'm cresting the hill saying no my "girly Jeep" made it just fine.

Is that a stock goodyear I see as the spare? Dangerous having a different sized spare...

I love it, it's just like my jeep, but lifted! (I have a green 05 renny, too)

I need to get frankenlifted...

I know that is a stock badyear on the back but my budget only allowed for tires and a lift. I'm not going to get the full size spare till I get a basket for the top. I don't like the idea of having a bigger spare there due to the way it's mounted. I was ended up spending more on tires than I planned to so the trade off was 4 MT/R's or 5 lesser tires. Besides the Frankenlift has rendered my jack useless, so I'm boned either way I go if I get a flat.

hehe, true. I guess it's time for a high-lift!

So how much was the lift all said and done? Did the kit include everything you needed, or were there any extra parts you had to pick up? I assume you also needed a front end alignment after, but is that the only extra service needed? How involved was the install?

Do you like how the 245/75R16s fit on the stock rims? Any rubbing? Most people seem to want to go with rubicon rims, and I assume the backspacing is different.

Reason I'm asking all the questions is that I have pretty much the exact same jeep and will be getting a frankenlift (when I finally decide that it's time to lift). I just want to get an idea of what to expect.

Well let's see here. The Frankenlift is an awesome kit it has everything you need. The struts are assembled and everything. The lift cost me around 850 w/ shipping and the 4 MT/R's cost about 650 mounted and balanced. Later I find out someone on ebay that sells the MT/R's cheaper but I did get a good deal either way.I do have some rubbing but that is mainly because I got stuck and tweeked my front end a little so it rubs on the pass. side. I'm going to have to trim the air darn, pass. fender well (again as I put the MT/R's on before the lift, and had to do the whole pinch weld thing), and I need to find a way to raise the washerfluid bottle about 2" just to be on the safe side. Just be prepaired to pry the crap out of the front end to fit those struts. All in all it is a pretty basic install just be careful to use the right nuts with the right bolts. I didn't and I screwed up a bolt for the strut bracket and the upper ball joint nut. The bolt was easy enough to replace just go get a grade 8 bolt and nut that fits and replaced it. The upper ball joint nut was a different story. I ended up having to wait till the dealership opened the next day to get a 2.37 nut. Oh yea and you will need an alignment. Me personally I'm waiting a week or so to do the alignment that way the lift can settle first. I would do that lift as soon as you can IMO. It changes the way you look at your little KJ.
