I had to laught at this thread over on the TJ boards at JeepsUnlimited. The thread was running right before JU went offline, they are back up now.

It was pretty decent, only one guy really bashing on the KJ, the rest pretty civil.

Then somebody posted pictures of KJs on a trail run ... serious trail run. It got really, really quiet.

Makes me want to take more pictures on the trails, just so I've got 'em to toss out there without saying anything when somebody says a KJ isn't a "real Jeep".

Guess "a picture is worth a thousand words" really is true.

Dude, you call that civil?? All they did was bash the KJ and call it a soccer mom vehicle.

Those guys are a disgrace to the entire 4x4 community. Those are the morons that believe if it doesn't have a solid axle, it's not a trail rig.

JP mag sucks apparently.

Let's see...8.25 rear end, NV 242 case, 545RFE tranny, turbo-diesel, cast iron A-arms, coils front and back...hmm.. No... no I'm not thinking the KJ is anything like the Ford Escape or Rav4 at all. These guys are stupid.

OK just my 0.02 cents.

Yeah, they only got quiet because they are probably making fun of the thead over in OT or harassing the people posting out of the forum (and in real life). Be careful on JU, there are a lot of nutjobs who take everything a little too personally.

well, That is not a valid topic and I have to agree with the base... This is the perverbial apples to oranges comparison.

Many have seen me wheel mine hard, I will try anything, and honestly, this thing is as capable as my old tj was... but I do have more money into the KJ, I also have more experience driving off road.

One guy said it best, it is mostly the driver, not the rig. Look at all the people you have wheeled with and they are surprised at what we can do, look at the eagle rock run the rockies guys went on last weekend, on the CB they were bashing the KJ through most of the run until finally at the hardest corner, the trash talkers came up to try to force the KJS off the trail and bi--h about the kj more... then they ate crow as it was a stupid XJ with bald street tires!! The Rockies kj's were done or waiting on that guy!!! He actually kinda apologized for his earlier trash talk when he was talking to marty and I when we were getting ready to leave!

I love how these Die Hards are spending their time TALKING about the Liberty. Some people will never adapt to change and will be left left behind wondering the capabilities of those who have adapted and overcame not obstacles but opportunities.

Keep talking were reloading

I think someone might want to mention that the military HMMWV has been in service for more than 20 years with FULLY INDEPENDENT suspension. Yea, its not a Jeep, but since we are comparing TJs to KJs its a point to bring up. The only complaint I have against the HMMWV is the Torsen diffs and not having real locking differentials.

BTW the HMMWV has 18 inches of ground clearance and 37" tires. So it can be done with IFS. Its time to educate the ignorant!
